As per popular request - I put together another directors commentary for you but this time from the series Survivorman Bigfoot. The experience in Klemtu certainly changed my perspective in a big way and brought to life certain aspects of the phenomenon I was still learning about.
Directed By Les Stroud
Starring Les Stroud, John Bindernagle, the people of Klemtu BC

Loved the 'Survivor Man' series - and this series is wonderful, as well. Having spent a ton of time in the backcountry throughout my life I've had some interesting 'experiences' as well. One of the creepiest was 'hyena-like laughter' echoing in a remote bowl up around Mt. Massive, here in Colorado. That'll make the hair stand on end and freeze your blood, cold. One item to note, when the air feels heavy...no birds, no insects, no animals - the usually vibrant sounds of a forest become oppressively silent? Especially at night - when that happens, dial up your focus and attention because you may be close to having a truly unexplainable event, yourself.

@The Doctor I kind of have to disagree. Most of the missing can be attributed to mountain lions, bears, venomous snakes, human stupidity, etc. But many Native American and First Nations stories tell of Sasquatch like creatures as being dangerous and kidnapping people. So while the percentage is very small, it shouldn't be discounted.

The wood knocking. Many years ago when we had one around here , including my woods. I had no idea what was doing the strange things that summer and i did not even know about wood knocking. But that year i went looking for poachers several times and never found anything. That wood knocking was more like hunters do driving deer. You notice that the Patterson footage (assuming it wasn't just a guy in a suit) was filmed with an old reel film camera; Purely mechanical, no electronics to malfunction. Perhaps it's time for researchers to go low-tech again.
@pjamabinsmarter6347
@pjamabinsmarter6347 4 года назад
The Patterson footage has many stories with it . One of them is that a Bigfoot termination crew bumped into the guys hoping to film Bigfoot. It has been said the hunters had a trained dog and were terminating a troop of Bigfoot. They killed a young one and buried it on the river bank and knew the female would come to it and give the opportunity to film it.

Hi Les, George here. A friend of mine once said " Sesquatch are blurry creatures, thats why good pictures of them are blurry" . Well, I think one possible answer to their cloak of blurr, is that they may be able to use a spiritual cloaking of "our " minds. Just as we do not actually see what is there, rather we create an image from the light that bounces off of a solid thing that then illuminates nerves in our eyes and mind, that then create a thought of what it is that is fairly accurate but always a few seconds behind reality, I think our Bigfoot neighbors in the forests, make our minds not see them. ok...I will sit back and enjoy the rest of your great video. Have a good evening. George.

To be honest, as a person who has spent the majority of my life in the woods. You hardly find animal bones in the wild period. If you dont know natural areas that cause death like whirlpools or undertows, cliffs, mud pits, such natural traps like that. Or you know what time to look. You wont find bones. Natures eats them, be it bugs, rats, birds, scavengers or what have you. Nature claims the dead fast.

One time heard sounds I couldn't understand while camping in northern Iowa, found out later there was a hog confinement not far away ... not saying that's what it was, but there's some scary sounds coming from those places as they jostle to get along. The sound I heard was much more like a howl or a woman's scream but so far away .... but hadn't sounded like any coyotes I've heard before, but coyotes seem to have a weird range of sounds too. If it hadn't been so far away, I would have thought it was cats (mating/fighting) but the sound carried so far it couldn't have been cats .... I have never heard that sound again myself, but a couple of these shows have come close to what I heard when they record it. Love your commentary!

Nice video. RE: the Sea Lion skeleton on the beach - I'm not a marine biologist, but close enough. I have no idea if somebody postulated an answer on your question and I have no time to read all the comments. I did grow up on Puget Sound which is remarkably similar to that area in question. I believe the answer is that the Sea Lion crawled up on the shore and died. PNW crabs are remarkably capable of eating every bit of meat off a skeleton (or nearly every bit). Similarly, terrestrial bugs like Sow Bugs / Rollie Pollies and beetles will clean bones in Summer in very short order. That is how Taxidermists clean deer/elk skulls for Euro mounts. I believe it is a fairly recent death since the ligaments are still keeping the vertebrae together. Otherwise, it would disarticulate and fall willy nilly down the bank.

I've heard he's been trained to ignore pain. To Ignore the weather. To live off the land. To eat things that would make a billigoat puke. "Coloner Samuel Troutman"

If you made another series where you talked with tribes about what they believe and the stories they have id totally watch that. Is this something you'd consider?

Thank you Les for your research you have done. You have done an awesome job. My husband and I watch all of these. Northern Idaho has had sightings here. I have had two myself. I have been hearing stories since I was a child here from family and locals. And then I saw one when I was 11. They are fascinating. Thanks again for all of your hard work.

Les. The ringer issue is solved by changing your phones ring count. Most probably by contacting your phone company. Or checking the info from manufacturer sometimes thats a setting on the phone

I really enjoyed this episode. I like the atmosphere you created by inviting us into your home, sitting on your couch and having a beer (looked like guinness), it felt like I was hanging out with a buddy. I wish you had set up a regular video camera (i.e. one that isn't triggered by a motion sensor) on that second day when the apple and the sandwich were taken. Also, since you were able to successfully repeat the apple experiment 2 days in a row it would have been nice to see you stay another day or at least come back a few days later to try it again with a camera set up that would give a better chance of capturing what is taking those apples. My comments aren't meant to detract from this awesome episode, I'm just a fan who would love to see some of these little mysteries answered. Hope you revisit this location and keep cranking out these videos!

Would love to know where in Ontario that track you showed came from! Your treatment of the sasquatch phenomenon is the only mainstream one that I've respected and appreciated. Sincerely appreciate both your work on this topic and the directors commentaries. Thanks for this!
