108 years old and sharp as tact. This lady should be a national treasure.

She's almost 108 years old. Presumably, for many years, she's been told numerous times, "Oh, just wait," "No, it's not the time right now," which is just a game of deflecting and delaying, hoping she would just forget about it. It's TRAUMATIC what she went through, and it's INDELIBLE in her mind, it's IMPOSSIBLE for her to forget about it, and she NEVER will, until it's her time. I pray she, her living family relatives, and other survivors do finally get justice.

I'm overjoyed that there's no statute of limitation on this abhorrent horrendous injustice - it has been a long time coming. I pray that this soft spoken lady & others will get recompense for this dastardly racist despicable act that was foisted on their community. Let the healing & closure begin.

Modern tax payers are ALWAYS paying for acts or decisions in the past. That how it works. Pretending anything else is just not wanting to make a full accounting for damage done.

What happened in 1921 impacted the family legacy, lives, businesses, homes were lost... This goes well beyond what people may see at face value. It is just too bad the victims and families were not able to receive compensation much sooner; I genuinely hope the lawsuit is successful and she lives to see it.

I could see making the argument that today’s taxpayers shouldn’t pay for the crimes of their ancestors if the victims were dead and their descendants were the ones seeking the compensation, but we are talking about people who are still alive today. You should have paid these people ages ago. It’s not their fault that y’all waited. PAY THIS WOMAN. She’s a victim of a state sponsored hate crime!

When you steal and hand the stolen goods to your child/generation, that child remains in possession of stolen goods whether or not they have knowledge of your theft. How much more when you kill, pillage and destroy? Your children will have to do the right thing and pay compensation for your actions. This is why we should practice love and respect of all persons

I have not been part of the Tulsa community long as I moved here just a few years ago and never knew about this until I watched bodies being dug up on television! Racial Justice is one of the most important things to be conquered today!! ##JusticeforGreenwood!!

This beautiful lady is 107 YEARS OLD....?? No way...or better yet Way to go...!! I am a white senior totally agreeing with your mission and fight for justice...! The mayor's spiel is moot...! There is always money from taxes to subsidize new buildings where rents or sales will benefit the upper crass 1% at the top... Then there MUST be tax monies for victims of crimes.. NO IF NO BUTS.. period..!

It's truly unfortunate that people don't believe that the descendants of these individuals who lost family members and love ones, and everything they owned during the Tulsa Massacre was not affected by this and that the Government or State of Oklahoma should be held accountable for it. People were allowed to robbed, steal, lynched, and killed innocent people by terrorizing these people community without being arrested and charged for hate crimes. Not one person was held accountable for this atrocity!! And to say that people of today shouldn't pay for it? Then who should pay for it?!! Because the Government or the State of Oklahoma isn't going back in history to find out who lost their property and return the land and/or property back to them and/or the family descendants. And the people who benefited from this atrocity towards humanity and people of color. They were able to capitalize and benefit from this, and past this thievery onto their descendants for generational wealth. Then their descendants can payback what wasn't originally theirs back to the rightful heirs.

Praying that this happens for her because Tulsa wants to forget about it.

Why does America pay for Holocaust survivors, Hiroshima descendants, victims of other country wars, and Indians don’t pay taxes because America stole their land (that’s understandable) as well as get a check,but when it comes to the crimes that was against their own fellow Americans (basically the black community) they don’t want to pony up and pay🤷🏾‍♂️ It’s always the run around. Torn. Because not all the decedents that's committed the crime have to pay the consequences instead new generations that were not involved will be the ones paying. Yet her future generations lost out on what belonged to them because of the crimes committed.

It's biblical that younger generations pay for what ancestors did. Since people still have generations living off of stolen land and property by way of what their ancestors did, They should have to pay the cost for what their ancestors did!
