Sadly, it’s all business. Like big pharma handing out blanketed drugs like candy to treatment centers as well

So it’s abusive because it gives the kids a taste of the real world ? Sure they hate it but how have their lives changed after the program? This is the real world they’re being exposed to, nature is unforgiving, I’d assume they’d at least have learned to appreciate what they have. Unapologetically, it’s true that those who can’t live through a program like this are the same people nature would’ve wiped out anyway. And those who see this as abusive are no different má. You’re too weak to live, survival of the fittest and you are not fit. Nature really is truly humbling, because it will always be the true ruler of the world and it cares less about your feelings. Sadly most have forgotten that as they continue to live miserable lives with everything they need, they are miserable because they can’t not understand the privileges the modern world holds.

Who abused you so much in life that you think this is the real world? The real world is hard but you have the freedom and choice to make it better. In these camps the kids don't have a choice. They are locked in until the camp breaks them and they are released...and the majority of the time they go to drugs and alcohol because of the trauma they had from the facility..

If the camps were *only* introducing kids to nature and survival techniques, I would agree to …maybe some extreme? I mean, there’s something to be said for unplugging from the world, learning how to light fires, create a shelter, learning what berries, plants, etc, are useful in nature. All of those things are useful. But the attack therapy? Physical abuse? That’s not the real world. I had a friend who went to one of these camps in 2005. She was raped before she went to this camp, and the attack therapy is real. The entire group of other students berated my friend for being assaulted, and she is still working through that trauma to this day. That’s not the real world. Consequences to bad behavior is one thing, but that’s not what this is.
