What a shame that this marvelous album was not released in it's day - but better late than never. "For The Love Of A Soldier" strikes a special note for us Vietnam-era boomers. There's so much great music that never got fair exposure while so much inferior dreg did.
If this álbum had been released back in the day, I have no doubt that "For The Love Of a Soldier" would have become an anti-war anthem! And rightly so!!!
Utterly fabtastic album !! For fans of Folk influenced Psychedelia - a must ! In the same - broad - bag as Bonnie Dobson and Melanie Safka . " Yesterday , Where's My Mind " is a slow burner , that seems to be simply an experiment in weirdness , that then emerges as a full on Psyche/Folk belter !
TV Girl and co-collaborator Madison Acid brought me here, after finding they sampled the chorus from "Paint a Lady" ("Tick tock. Time comes and then it's gone...") in one of their tracks, "Cut Chop Break Burn".
