Knew a female lieutenant in the Army. She told ne when she was a child, she went to an exclusive restaurant with her parents in NYC. This was during the run of the Brady Bunch. She noticed Florence Henderson sitting at another table with her husband eating. She asked her mother if she could go to her and her mother said, "Ok, but it would best to wait until after they finish eating." After Henderson finished desert, the mother and the girl went to the table. Florence Henderson knew right away what it was all about and she opened her arms and the kid ran to her and Florence Henderson hugged her. She talked with her for a while. Her mother and father thanked Henderson for everything she did for the kid.
"You know Susan Olsen, when you tattle on someone, you're not only tattling on them, you're tattling on yourself. And by tattling on someone you're really just telling them I'm a tattle tell. Now, is that the tale you want to tell?" - Mike Brady.
@@FactsVerse Jan was always my favorite. Later on, especially in the 5th season, she just seemed so cool - straight hair, no more glasses, and a sort of self-realized swagger she had. She was as cool as she looked.
@@FactsVerse Supporting and guest cast members were great, too - the snoopy PTA lady who got on Greg's nerves when he took the wrong jacket which had the lady's son's cigarettes in the pocket, which BMeister22 so beautifully parodied. Buddy Hinton...and LINDA...a friend of Marcia's - from Sea-At-Tull.
I was disappointed the Brady Bunch Movie didn't parody the outright melodrama of Marcia's vain attempts to land Davy Jones for the dance. The recording studio scene was ripe for parody. It was also one of Marcia's best depair moments - up there with "the braces", "booted from Romeo and Juliet" and "Father of the Year".
This is Susan Olsen’s cousin, Cynthia. What an idiot to put my cousin down for a show about Tattle Tales. Susan is an actress, and The Brady Bunch was just a show. She is one of the nicest people you would ever know. She has a great sense of humor and a good heart.
Hello cousin of Susan. Susan as an adult is the Brady kid that I can most identify with. She obviously has the best memory of any of her TV siblings and can recall so much from her youth as being a Brady, which I understand was a great aid in helping HGTV renovate their TV house. She is also very articulate in her conversations and explains in detail what is going on, currently or 50 years ago. Most everybody knows she's totally cool, so don't let desparaging remarks get to you. If I could meet only one Brady Bunch kid, I'd like for it to be Susan and I think we would get along well and have a lot to talk about. A fan....I'm 60 years old and male.
@@AdamsOlympia he trips over a bike pump in one episode he admits in his book "growing up Brady" he was high that day and it is hilarious to watch he laughs at everything and Robert shoots him a glance you can tell wasn't scripted he looks to the side right after he is giggling it goes fast and he carries on but very funny when you see it
Almost everybody smoke back then me and my sisters would get high and watch the Brady bunch all the time and then the Monkeys came on right afterwards. The 1970s was a great time to be a kid.
I already heard about all this stuff. And drug abuse in that era was kind of a given. I didnt really have a favorite but i always had a crush on Jan (Eve Plumb). And I thought Peter and Bobby were cool. Have a great weekend everyone
I remember when it was on at night. It aired right at my bath time. Lol. I begged to watch a few times but could never remember what day of the week it aired. Now I think it was either Thursday or Friday night.
Brady Bunch was my favorite tv show back in the day. I always was excited when the show starred Marsha. I also liked the Christmas one when mom lost her voice and had a Christmas miracle.
If you start watching a video that claims to debunk myths, and right in the first five seconds, they get the fact wrong about what year the show first aired, are you going to watch the rest?
seems like another time, a safer, nicer world. But I suppose the direction was already into slow destruction we just did not know we were ruled by freemasonry even then, trying to dissolve family and its values, Christianity and its only true values. Guess mankind is now at the threshold of liberation but it will be painful
Absolutely! We feel the same way. Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
The ones i like the best are all of the vacation episodes. Seeing them out of and away from the house/set was always a win for me. But, of the vacation episodes which do i like the best...I think the Grand Canyon was the best followed by Hawaii. The amusement park trip to Ohio was memorable as well in getting to see the great foot race at the end by all with the perfect music to go along with it. A good video on a fun piece of Americana🙂
I remember TV showing clips of those episodes when the Brady Bunch stopped airing for a while. It was an announcement that "The Brady Bunch is on vacation and the show will return in a few weeks" or something similar!
Interesting that it wasn't mentioned that Robert Reed almost quit the show because he had to kiss a disgusting woman. They really should have replaced him. Gay is beautiful but hatred towards women is not.
It wasn’t “hate” just discomfort…. But all I remember is Reed was doing a lot of hugging and kissing with Miss Flo and it looked very convincing…. Of course, no one in the world knew that Robert Reed was Gay at that time, so no big deal.
You know, I’m just gonna say it: Greg Brady literally looks like what you’d think of when you think 70’s Pothead lol “Wha- the actor who played Greg smokes pot? NO…!”
Oh my my...love the episode where they were to swim nude in the neighbors pool....and my love and crush 4 Jan was cool...yep Jan was the cutest ...he he he...but the episodes where Marsha revoted and went bra-less were just yummmmie up us kids always raced to see what our favorites were up to. .loved them...just so yummmmiest..🥰✌
I remember when it aired at first and the tv guide was saying the kids are lost at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, I imagined them actually trapped under pieces of the canyon itself. 🤣 "We're gonna STAAAARRVE TO DEATH"
I love Susan Olsen but for someone who didn’t want to be remembered for Cindy’s curls and braids .. she sure held on to her adult hairstyle for dear life
Tim Blaine of Facts Verse, I realize you probably didn’t write the script you’re reading from and didn’t give the video the erroneous title. That said, most of the ‘rumors’ you said were mentioned in “Growing Up.Brady”, which I read 31 years ago, and the rest I learned from various interviews with the late Mrs. Henderson, the late Elroy Schwartz, the late Sherwood Schwartz, and Lloyd Schwartz.
My favorite episode is when the kids got tired of Cindy’s tattling and they drove her out to that remote area and buried her alive. I believe it was from the last season and advertised as a “very special” episode.
I grew up in the 70's & 80's and the Brady bunch was a great show. They all did a great job of acting & most of them were young. I think I've seen every episode 7 or 8 times, same with Gilligan's Island. A real life Brady bunch type of up bringing would be a great childhood. A lot of people don't have good childhoods though. Also - all 3 of the girls grew up to be nice looking women!! Thanks to everyone for making a good show. It was a good slice of the 1970's.
People do not realize that THE BRADY BUNCH was an idealized concept of family life that was removed from what was going on culturally. The kids lived that in real life and because of the crafted images of the show, the kids played parts that reflected the images that the creators presented. It as a job and the did their jobs.
@@FactsVerse You are so comprehensive and thorough, and you also cover such a variety of topics,..., it's hard to figure out what is more that you can do! I'm at a loss. Just make sure you pull at the heartstrings; don't waste your time on boring subjects. Really get down into the nitty-gritty, if you know what I mean. Right now that's all I can think of and I think that's what you are doing anyway! LOL!
@@FactsVerse The Slumber Party episode from 1970 ( 😱 ) which inspired me to have my OWN slumber party the same year. It was so great and so much fun, because all the girls' favorite show was The Brady Bunch, similar to the mania that surrounded Luke and Laura ten years later, lol. And MAN, both of those shows might as well have been a hundred years ago, because that's how it feels. But thanks for the trip down memory lane! Such simple, innocent times. . .😘
When the kids sang "live," you could hear their voices still singing even after they'd stopped and were taking their bows. When Alice's cousin fills in, split screen meant the two cousins didn't even hug, they could've used a double from the back. The Bradys allowed Cousin Emma to boss them around when she should've been taking orders from them. The show could've handled these things better.
No, I disagree, about Sgt Emma. She was very gung-ho and hardened, her personality a direct contrast to that of Alice. She wasn't the domestic type, although I thought it a bit strange that with two parents in the house, and with Greg and Marcia nearly fully grown, they didn't need a babysitter, so why did Alice ask her to step in? Additionally, about the hugging, Emma didn't seem to be the demonstrative type after all those years in the Army. Finally, of course they were going to be polite nd put up with everything about her because that's what you did with a guest, no matter HOW impossible they were to live with.😅😅😅😅
My favorites where the trip 3 parters, a time when familes travled together. I loved the episode where Greg buys that car and the hilarious noises it makes. I had a cursh on Marsha but Jan was fighting for that spot in season 5. I will always Know Eve Plumb not only as Jan Brady but also as the nun in the episode of "facts of life" where Jo pops Blair lol what an epic 2 part episode
Obviously difficult shows to watch now, as they seem more like "after school specials" that each had that valuable lesson to teach. They were the cornerstone of every kid growing up in the '70s and '80s. Especially since the show would come on every day on channel 48 right after school. Since two of my siblings died at a young age (both younger) I spent a lot of time in front of the TV and the Bradys almost seemed like my second family. I had a 'bizarre' response for when Oliver came on the show as I thought that I would have been a "better" fit. Not completely understanding the concept that the show had taped almost a decade earlier. I related to Jan, Eve Plumb's character thinking that she was gorgeous and was similar in age and Bobby who made similar mistakes that I did growing up.
Brady bunch got mocked by the brady bunch movies for being goodie goodie, and so did leave it to beaver. As a kid, i enjoyed the brady bunch and didnt know leave it to beaver, and really just took everyone's word they were that way. But as an adult, my perception is that both the brady bunch and leave it to beaver are enjoyable shows, and there is nothing goodie goodie about either. They were just normal teenagers and parents, with the parenting styles a reflection of the 50s, 60s, 70s. And the clothes were a reflection of those time periods. As for the actors having drug experience or romance? Thats just normal preteen, teen, college aged stuff. Half of this age group experiences it. And give me a break, they arent really related lol People just like talking about people. I liked the brady bunch as a kid, and i appreciate it and leave it to beaver as an adult. In fact, i watched that slumber party brady bunch episode with my grandson and then took him to the dollar store cause his sister was having friends sleep over. 😂
@@FactsVerse My fav isn’t even part of The Brady Bunch. It was the X Files episode called “Sunshine Days” where they some very good Brady Bunch look a likes when this dude had the ability to bring these characters to life. Why did he do such a thing? Because the Brady Bunch was a perfect family & his life was not so perfect. Anybody ever seen that episode of The X Files?
@@zzzbbbooo The entire pilot episode was filmed in 1968. In his memoir Growing up Brady, Barry Williams (who played Greg) narrated that he was turning 14 when shooting of the wedding episode began in that year and it took almost a year between filming the pilot and that of the show's "real first episode". What I meant by 1969 was when The Brady Bunch hit the TV airwaves on ABC after a few more months the producer tried to get the program on the air. My apologies for the oversight
My favorite episode is the one where Jan comes back from her first date ever, and takes all of Marcia's birth control pills at once, because she doesn't know how they work. Then, Greg takes her to the hospital to get her stomach pumped, but turns out she didn't have to, because Cindy secretly replaced all of Marcia's birth control pills with Tic-Tacs.
Why are you constantly showing pictures and video footage of a guy that’s NOT Lloyd Schwartz??!! The very first picture in that segment IS Lloyd, the rest is a different guy!! Things like this take credibility OUT of your videos! 🙄
