At the age of 25 in 1977, she became the youngest cabinet minister of Haryana in Devilal's Government. Sushma Swaraj became the Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Health Minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Government. Sushma also served as the Minister of External Affairs of India in the first term of Narendra Modi government (2014-2019) and became the second woman to hold the office, after Indira Gandhi.
