She was so young and was struggling to handle the awful situation. Being a rape victim is emotionally traumatising. A lot of Nepalese don’t think before they type their thoughts. Often thise comments are demotivating, irrational, illogical and blood boiling. Those comments show how narrow-minded they are. Often ladies are ladies’ worst enemy. Despite being of the same gender, ladies still raise finger at the victim. Females are always considered inferior and helpless in the society. Today’s mothers can change such thoughts of tomorrow’s children. We, ladies, should change out thoughts by educating ourselves and teaching our sons to respect the other gender equally and our daughters to stand for herself.

Many people in Nepal do not know much about Depression, BPD, PTSD, ADHD etc. I had seen this situation in my own family, someone who committed suicide while in depression. It’s so strange that people are blaming victim and saying her things like how could she be in a relationship with guys one by one after all this happened. This is completely irrelevant to what has happened to her. People need to understand the difference between being in a relationship, having sex with the partner with your consent and somebody raping a woman. Of course, the CONSENT matters. Also, it’s so easy for people to judge a woman just because she had multiple boyfriends. Women are always judged in our country. They seriously need to understand that there is no relation between rape and woman’s so called “character”. In our society, (like in America, people has set some unrealistic beauty standards), people have set unrealistic parameters to judge women character. We seriously need to grow up !

People having hard time believing that she could get assaulted so many times are the ones who have normalized nonconsensual groping, vulgar words and actions as "sadharan keti jiskaune tarika". Even me, when I was younger, I had been assaulted by people whom I knew for years and who knew me. If people I am so much familiar with can take advantage of me, then consider ones who are strangers. Even catcalling on the streets is considered harassment but we turn a blind eye as always. Talking about one of the cases, I had a classmate who was the son of a local politician. He used to grope my chest and butt in public and say profanities like "you deserve to be gangbanged" "I will rape you" and so on. He is now an aspiring politician himself. Not only him but there were other boys as well. I never spoke of this to anyone because I thought it was common and all girls went through it at some point. It didn't occur to me until later that it harmed my mentality. Even to this day, I occasionally go through those small forms of violations but have to keep quiet because I don't want to make it a big scene because at the end, it is me who will be humiliated in the public. Many girls go through this but the platform for public speaking goes to half brained rape apologists who only help quieten the victims voices. Such people are not only men but shamefully, women as well.

It is very true. Sexual harassment is real every 6- 7 out of 10 girls suffer from it in school, house or on the bus. But Nobody has the confidence to share about it. I remember 25 years ago I got harassed but I have shared it with 1 person who is my sister. So, let's say No to Harassment and people who harass are equal to rape because it gives mental scars which never go away from the mind.

It is so easy to simply judge other,only those know how it impacts .Myself being assaulted by my own family member,relatives,my brothers best friend ,conductor,guy i met while travelling home,...i shared once to my mother but they took so easily and that guy never stopped coming our home,so i stopped sharing to my family.It is so traumatizing and whenever i see and hear news of assault ,rapes ,i just cannot tolerate and go to different zone.I was so young when it happened ,to even understand what had happened to me.But as i grew old i came to understand what it was.I never gave any hint,i never wanted me to be assaulted my by own people .It happened due to abusers situational action and for their satisfaction but what abt me?I have to live with it my whole life.Now what do i do,if i would speak my family will be divided into part.Thinking that,i ve to be quiet .Even in my case ,i ve tried moving on with this.Sometime i do forget and sometime all of sudden,everything triggers.I tried to forgive those people but some time i feel they are a monster.Why me ?and all are the qn which frequently arises... I wish NEPALESE EDUCATION SYSTEM will change someday to include all basic moral things to learn.I got assaulted when i was minor by a minor guy as well lots of time.I feel it is due to lack of proper education .We were never tought about good and bad touch.Never tought how to protect ourself if ever such situation arises.I feel those guys also were never tought to RESPECT girl and boy in same manner.IF WE WANT A SAFER PLACE TO SURVIVE,OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM SHOULD INCLUDE BASIC THINGS TO LEARN . After i shared my story many people( Men , Women) shared their story to me in private..i have been guiding ppl to overcome through their tough time. I dont wanna highlight any negative topic but being a mental health patient i would never drag another person to that path ( not supporting malvika here.. highlighting other names which got dragged in this case.) This is heart wrenching. I got to know about this from your video only. I have heard people being raped for 24 years continuously as well. It’s a psychological condition that culprits makes that makes it impossible for the victims to speak out. The statue of limitations imposed by law is really disheartening and it really need to be amended. The comments you read out really depicts our mindset and show how far we are in really becoming a sensible and responsible human.
