Imagine any other profession, where you in contact with people and can help or harm them in a serious way. And then then "professional" is just winging what he does: - A surgeon guessing which tool is the right one to cut into your brain - A fireman reading the manual how to attach the hose while a building is on fire - A soldier trying to remeber, if the safety distance of his handgrenade was 50 or 150m to allied individuals - A electrician changing a fuse, hoping it will the the 6A and not the 10A one In any other field of work, we wouldn't accept someone with such responsibility and power, acting upon guesswork. And yet here we see thousands upon thousands of videos of UK and US policemen, learning on the job while giving people orders and a hard time. For fucks sake, raise your standards and education, its fucking nessessary.
It's a disgrace that they don't know the law, yet come up and bark in front of people expecting them to believe what you say is gospel Distracting you from your work is a problem you and your goons have. It's called attention deficit disorder. ADH. Yet this fool has No excuse team. And he was the biggest fool who had nothing but excuses. Unreal how they can wing it every day. I hope if i am up in court, that my barrister is not winging it like this cop.
We went from "you've commited an offence" to "I suspect you've commited an offence" to "I'm a traffic officer, I'll go get another officer, who fly drones to se if you have commited an offence" - these guys are a joke.
Imagine calling a cop for help and this guy turns up. He would ask the criminal for the law he has broken beecause he is traffic and knows nothing about rapr, burglary etc!
But you missed the best bit, where he went from "I'll go get another officer who fly drones to see if you have committed an offence" to DOH, you haven't committed an offence and I have just made a complete plonker of myself for all the internet to see.
A thought he did fairly well No cuffs, no search, no detainment, no ID, he only said he wouldn't be arresting Julian, and most of all never mentioned the terrorist act What more do you want At least he's honest as there all clueless of the law most of the time
@@otlseal9159 You're ignoring the bit where he made up laws that don't exist and used them to demand details. His demeanour was aggressive until he realised he'd made at fool of himself, at which point he started acting all nice and humble to try to save face. Had he been confronting somebody more timid or less knowledgeable, they would have most likely complied with his unlawful demands.
@@DystopianUtopia I couldn’t agree with you more, and quite clearly @otlseal9159 either didn’t watch the video or is one of the cop’s mates (or in his police gang) to suggest the cop did nothing wrong.
Needs jail time, they all do. The appropriate Authorities are working on putting these folks where they belong, be it body bag, the ground or behind bars. They're not safe to walk the streets with the rest of humanity.
From a long time drone operator I must say you handled that very well indeed, it's a pity that all police aren't aware of the regs and would save a lot of time if they were trained, I do like how he didn't like being asked questions but was more than willing to ask you questions, well done for keeping calm and to the point
Exactly right it's not what you think or guess it's just does it contravene a law. See my remarks that explain this I have seen lots of Videos like this it makes me weep It's easy read the law learn it apply it.
A cop in america would’ve just pepper sprayed him as soon as he didn’t comply, I wish American cops were atleast like this man and could admit to his fault after being proven wrong, instead of refusing to except it and not getting in trouble for when THEY break the law
The badge which states No Excuse Team is is extremely relevant to this encounter. First I wasn't aware that this force are employing tramps, and his ignorance really is what it applies too: No Excuse for gross ignorance. Says it all. Great job, keep up the good work.
I’m a Traffic Officer who doesn’t know much about traffic either. You could smell the smoke coming off his back pedalling, his bullshit flap valve was wide open !! Read the CAA rules and still didn’t understand why he was talking bollox. Well done for educating at least three of the ‘force’ !
Why did he need 2 of his buddies with him just to have 'a chat'? P.S. The only Criminal Offence was the cop interrupting the operator of an airborne device !
Gosh the back peddling from that traffic cop was embarrassing. He was trying to throw his weight around and it backfired badly, well done for holding your ground.
unkempt, hands in pockets.. what happened to the neat haircuts and proper uniforms. Its not the first video i've seen with scruffy officersm and thats before we start on their actual knowledge of the law!
@@Polecat54941 Yes it's very scary to know these cats are roaming free ready to pounce....and they have all the permissions of the Gov to kidnap, assault and even murder if they so much as get a bee under their bonnet
Suspicion of walking on the cracks in the pavement, urinating in a public convenience, possession of an offensive wife and wearing a loud shirt in a built up area... guilty as charged.
I know he would terrorise a child with his look, demenour and behaviour. And we are paying for him to know nothing! If he is just traffic he should stop at a red light and stay there!
Desperate. He continues to tell you that you can't do it because he's concerned about health and safety. My gf is a health and safety professional. He's supposed to be a cop. I don't think he was reasonable at any point tbh. He was arrogantly ignorant throughout. They should be able to do the job they're being trained on without getting distracted. I worked in construction for decades and I don't recall asking people to be quiet so I could concentrate. All part of the learning process. 😂
I’m not sure he was that humble or reasonable, alleging an offence had been committed and demanding your details. Comical after you have schooled him for 15 minutes that he asks you if you know what a weigh bridge is 😂😂😂 Then at the end he says he will answer 1 more question as - you’ve have quiet a bit of his time or words to that effect …. only because he chose to engage with you. Great video 👍
"I don't want to look like a wolly or something on youtube" lol! Typical constable who is clueless on the law regarding drones and caught himself out... he backtracked quickly when he realised he was talking to someone who wasn't just going to bend over for him and knew the law and their rights. You dealt with this well Julian as you always do.
The officer was perfectly correct, and in accordance with CAA guidance wanted to establish the legality of the flight. Had the frauditor identified the drone as sub-250g then that would have been the end. However the frauditor needed a conflict for his sad video, so escalated by refusing to answer a polite simple and appropriate question
@@dansroadtripz1195 Yawn, you really are one very limited little man. Only little girls use the term "Frauditor". Since when are people obliged to answer questions if they aren't breaking the law.
Pathetic back pedalling on that officers behalf. He was hoping JC didn't have a handle on the law so he could beat him down. He's obviously gotten away with it for a while now. Good video.
Apparently the officer wants you and your drone to refrain from coming within sight of any Attention Deficit Officers (from here on known as ADOs) to decrease chances of the public knowing they are lacking basic knowledge in the job they are there to perform.
You were clearly guilty of distracting a police officer going about his normal duties of fabricating laws and procedures that don't exist. What a damaged and fragile ego he has.
@Martin Sanders He had no alternative. I'd like to think if it was me I'd have told him to p1ss off and go find out instead of trying to assert his non existent authority. We put up with so much crap from these people.
A buzzing distracts them while they also claim good salaries for working on motorways. Sounds like these cops aren't suitable for police work with that terrible attention span
@Martin Sanders They are like Marmite then. Just because some cops behave worse than him it doesn't make him good, in my judgement it would just make him less bad. We have so precious few freedoms and every interaction like this is an attempt to erode or remove a freedom . If the officer didn't know this subject there is no excuse for taking this man's time up by blagging away as if he did. All too often we cave in just for an easy life. I appreciate your reply and point of view. Hope you continue to hang on to the right to have the latter.
4:50 this was precisely the moment this officer had a ‘sliding doors’ moment. He could have either swallowed his ego, admitted the error, and said ‘thank you sir, goodbye’… OR… pathetically attempt to justify himself and re-apportion the blame away from himself. Fragile ego, and low emotional control. Officers everywhere: The only way to earn respect is to behave with integrity at all times (especially when you’re wrong!) 👍
No comment on that officer, but remember the covid days? There were many elements of the police who were enforcing non-existent laws and guidances that were not laws (and went much further than the law itself). They flew drones to shame people walking, which wasn't illegal. Police have to control their tendency to see bad in everyone with the evidence in front of them on any given occasion - and that often means no bad or wrong at all.
“If you don’t know the drone laws, do you think it’s sensible to approach a member of the public telling them you suspect them of committing an offence?” is the question that needs to be asked.
He was happy to say he thought you were committing a crime and you were to hand over your personal details when he was reading from the CAA website, as soon as you prove you are lawfully allowed to do what you were doing, they suddenly decided the CAA website isn't good enough and need advice from a drone copper😂😂😂
If flying a drone over their heads is a "safety issue" for his colleagues they need to update their H&S risk assessment. Ironic he has NO EXCUSE TEAM emblazoned across his chest.
He suspected you of 'flying a drone in a public place!' 😳😲😁 Whatever next will he consider a crime? - Walking your dog in a public park! Driving your car on a public road. Cycling past a public residence. Walking along a public footpath. Kicking a football in a park. Flying a kite in a field on a windy day! Going shopping in a public place?? I could go on and on but I think I made my point already.😁👍 You've actually given him a very useful practicle, public service training exercise and clearly he failed miserably!
@@MrKevC It feels like just existing is sailing close to the wind of being on the wrong side of the law? I mean not so long ago we weren't allowed out of our homes, or to get married or have a funeral for a loved one or visit an elderly family member in care etc. I fly my drone out in the middle of nowhere, bothering nobody, minding my own business but after watching videos like this it makes me feel like I'm still doing 'something wrong'.⚠️😲😳 When a none drone flying member of the public watches a video like this and they see me flying one, they instantly think I'm acting nefariously!
@@pdtech4524 As a Drone operator myself even though it is only small time hobby for me I totally agree with you. Anything nowadays that you get a bit of fun and enjoyment out of they want to screw you over its all about making money and F--k the everyday man. Freedom of speech is being eroded faster than a salt mountain at sea. Do your thing and don't worry about all the other clowns is my advise 👍

The cop based his concern on a simple safety issue, I call his concern based on ignorance. You're a very patient man Julian, I found him to be rather unpleasant.
"I Don't want to look a wally on RU-vid". A bit too late for that officer. He eventually knew he'd screwed up and tried to explain his way out of an embarrassing situation, only to step deeper and deeper into the cow-shit he'd already trodden.
"you've taken up quite a bit of my time" 😂 Who approached who, and held a member of the public there, all the time his colleagues checked there was actually no offence committed, and no reason therefore to hold a member of the public there in the first place. Could he dig a bigger hole for himself?
Great audit! 👏👏👏What an ignorant cop! First talking to you while you’re flying the drone.. then dishing out a lot of stuff not relevant.. for then realising he is being filmed, so a quick change in attitude! ‘I don’t know everything etc’ well find out before interacting! 😂 You were really more polite towards him than he deserved!
Just stumbled across your channel. Got a sub from me. Some great stuff. Not always about giving them a hard time but also about education for the ones that are clueless. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻
Guess what? They were wrong about DVSA inspectors having the power to stop a private car. This is what the Government website says.. "As a commercial driver, you might be asked to stop by the police or a Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) examiner. They can stop vans, lorries, buses and coaches"
@@Oatmeal300 He says he's a traffic cop but he doesn't know anything about DVSA officers and their powers. Id like to think it was a training session and he would know the answers by the end.
You just about managed to 'lion tame' that officers savage ego there, as he floundered and babbled his way back from suspecting you of a crime and wanting to arrest you, as soon as you presented him with facts and actual drone law he was lost, making us almost feel sorry for his crippling ignorance as we eventually discover that he is " just a traffic cop" with an unfortunate urge to arrest folk.
I mean he was humble once exposed, but the fact he needed exposing and approached in the way he did.... The issue here is the same issue with all these situations - it's police officers giving orders without already knowing the law, because they assume the public will take their word for it. It's such a dangerous mentality on both sides.
Very interesting interaction. Police accuse you of being in the wrong despite them not knowing the legislation. They then change their tune initially once they realise they’re being recorded and furthermore when they realise their ‘knowledge’ may be lacking somewhat. Good job by the auditor. Nice calm conversation. Remember , legislation states that it’s up to the Police (state) to PROVE that the accused has done something illegal. That’s important to remember whenever a police officer asks you to ‘Explain your understanding of the guidance’ etc. (You’re not legally obliged to explain your ‘understanding’). Remember the all important phrase of a police caution …. “You are not obliged to say anything…”. Firstly correct their wording by stating it’s not ‘Guidance’ but ‘law’, and then turn the question back on them and rather than give your ‘understanding’, ask them to state exactly what legislation applies. What offence have you been suspected of committing etc. Police are tasked with enforcing laws, not feelings etc. Also, Police rarely want to ‘just have a chat’. They’re trying to gather evidence, construct a case AGAINST you. There are no ‘chats’.
Since when were bobble hats 'Standard Issue' for the swine, and since when was flying a drone in public a criminal offence(?) The answer to both these questions is NEVER. Keep flying high Julian 🙂
Why don't they understand the difference between; 1. 'suspect you of an offence (don't know what)' and 2. 'suspect you of an offence (insert statue here)'?
"It would be unlawful for me to start trying to enforce things which don't exist". Exactly. I think he could be forgiven for not knowing all the rules around drones. What is not forgivable is attempting to blag it, claiming that there is a law being broken, and expecting that if he says it, and demands your information, with enough authority, you will believe it and comply. He should have accepted the fact that he doesn't know for sure, before saying a word to you, and he should have sought advice before trying to impose on you. It's also disappointing that his own failure to comply with body worn video and uniform policy is apparently something to be casually dismissed as irrelevant. Funny how he is very concerned with your compliance with the law and regulations, but his own, actual, breaches don't matter. He doesn't seem like a terrible bloke but so much of this still reflects what is wrong with modern policing in this country.
Where I live we are regularly disturbed by police helicopters circling above, even in the middle of the night, waking up the community, but this copper has the cheek to moan about a tiny quiet drone disturbing him.
"I don't want to look a Wally on RU-vid".......FAIL! If he does not know the law he should check first then come over if necessary - not just blag his way and hope he can intimidate you!
I wonder have many times this cop has used the line IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSE. And in the end he still made himself look like a complete idiot.
The copper was a reasonable guy, I'm pleased you started to mellow towards him (although you are right that we shouldn't be prevented or to have to justify what we are doing lawfully). Allowing him to make a call for advice on a sub 250 would have perhaps helped him. Wow, he was a bit dubious but did give you a bit of a show & tell of what they were doing, although got a bit edgy. Funny, whilst chatting with you, his partner made the call and got the advice on the sub 250 🤨
The cheek of him " i think iv given you enough of my time " 🤣🤣 how backwards can they get ... excuse me you come and interupted the drone pilot hes giving you his bloody time ..... imagine his poor kids when he thinks they may of done something wrong 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
"I am part of the no excuse team" highly fitting as you have absolutely no excuse for acting like that to a member of the public !I If you don't know the law - you have no power to enforce a law. Where on earth do you get the arrogance to believe that if you are distracted then you would have a power to stop somebody else's activity ? Well done Julian for maintaining your composure - I'm always in awe at how you manage to refrain from telling them to F-off!
Haha spot on! But next time a police car goes past my office making a racket I will have a good excuse for not doing any work - can you imagine - he would march me out the door.
If the officer knew the right legislation, he could obtain your operator ID and your details - without any suspicion of an offence. But sadly he was clueless.
"I don't know what I'm talking about.....but I'm going to check up on you"! At least he's made himself look like an idiot to a few thousand people! He is being awkward and considering you're doing a legal activity, he shouldn't have any right to hold you up.
@@thetruth9210 That's section 10. However, in this case they would quite be within their rights to report him at a later date. But not reporting him, that's section 10

It's almost certainly against that police force regulations. So what's the offence? I think that there is one from the 19th century, but I can't find it.
