🚨 People have their lives negatively impacted in MANY ways - bullies in the workplace (I call them criminals because they actually are getting away with STEALING people’s time and income when their targets resign or become ill from the workplace mobbing and abuse), people have been expelled from universities for no reason (other than standing up for themselves), great doctors, virologists and scientists are currently being censored, fired and are losing their licenses (and, for some of them, their very lives) because they are telling the truth about the corruption going on in “healthcare” - in hospitals, nursing homes, the CDC/WHO, etc. AND children are being abused by the media, priests, teachers and their very own families/parents, additionally, the media and their talking heads are gaslighting and dumbing down (gullible) world citizens. It’s up to us, individually and collectively (families and organizations) to decide how we want to treat others. It is true that when people are loved (and FEEL loved) and given what they need to survive and thrive in life, including a living wage, they would NOT commit crimes against individuals or humanity. America has a lot of growing up (in consciousness/awareness) to do.
You know the worst part about this story is? People out there are working hard, paying 1.5-2 million dollars to purchase a home for their family, in a nice city like Fremont , only to deal with this type of crap. Sad.
@lostthenfound91 What part of Fremont were you hanging out in? Actually, Fremont is a very nice City. Why else would all these silicon valley engineers choose to live here over the south bay? What you described sounds like Hayward, San Leandro or Oakland.
Crime is happens EVERYWHERE. It has increased since the pandemic started. Even the beautiful and extremely wealthy neighborhoods in San Francisco, like Pacific Heights and The Presidio are experiencing an increase in thefts. No place is immune to theft/crime. No Billionaires, here in SF or anywhere else, are immune. It may be difficult to accept, but it’s a fact.
@@707Iz "It's not worth killing someone over property wait for the police." So the thieves should've waited for the the cops before shooting at the owner of the car?
I wish car manufacturers would stop making these catalytic converters out of these precious metals and just use regular metals that aren't worth much at all. Car makers are the issue
If your Legislators would out law Catalytic Converter Recycling this probably wouldn't be an issue. Just to give a number on this problem, we had an crime ring get busted with 2000 catalytic converters and a lot of cash. Most recyclers give about $125.00 per converter. 2000 X $125.00 = $250,000.00. Cost to consumers, a catalytic converter cost anywhere from $800.00 to $1500.00, we will use $1300.00 as a base. 2000 X $1300.00 = $2,600,000.00. Yes, that is 2.6 million dollars that it cost the victims of catalytic converter thefts. This number does not include down time, labor to install or your insurance rates.
I agree with you. Do you think it will be justified though for Material/replaceable property? In THIS situation? Let’s say the victim shot the guy while he was under his car? What do you think?
@@babyaztrill well tbh they were armed and eventually shot at the man, I’d say if you shoot them dead at that point it would be open and shut self defense. But then again I’m not a libtard, and this is commiefornia so who knows?
A lot of people say they are capable of shooting at criminals but it's not that easy to shoot another human being. Even if you are about to shoot someone that is evil /criminal. The majority of people wouldn't be able to do it. Even if you do, you will probably have some sort of PTSD.
my mom has the almost identical Accord and just had it's cat stolen two weeks ago, we now have to spend $2K to replace something that those crook sold for maybe $50
@@wownewstome6123 I only ever had to replace one and it was only $850. But that was before metal prices went berserk because several somebodies sold out to China.
Seeing how it's California. The owner of the car will be ticketed for disturbing the peace and can also be sued for the trauma he caused the people who were taking ( not stealing) the catalytic converter
@@kenrushing7945 I believe that they usually do to make it quicker. Might not be totally necessary but some fat dude isn't getting under a car and moving quickly.
I know it’s just “property,” but…if somebody is willing to take or damage your property, it’s only the first of many dominoes that may fall (in terms of what they’re willing/going to do).
No, it's not just property - I wish people would engage their brains and realize that it is time out of your life to replace items that are stolen. How many hours would you have to work to replace a $1000 catalytic converter?
@@AE5X And the fact that car is your transportation to the job that’ll get that money… lose that and you’re homeless and dead… THIS IS YOUR LIFE!!! Shoot em in the leggs to slow them down.
There is a welding trick that will stop these thieves. You weld metal bars into a cage and you put thieves inside the cage. This makes it difficult for them to steal your catalytic converter or shoot your children. After they’ve had their second and third chance and still don’t respect the rights of others, lock them up. And keep them locked up. These train wrecks ruin the state for the honest people.
Is it me or it’s super sad that thieves are starting to shoot at people - they are supposed to steal crap without anyone notices… come on, be professional
These are criminals and criminals in America tend to be Armed and dangerous. Maybe thieves are still nice in Europe and operate as cat burglars but Criminals in America have always been on the crazy psycho gang side. They don't care and will shoot someone over a dollar. Why do you think we tell people over and over never approach criminals because most of the time they are probably armed and dangerous. Let the police deal with them.
This happened to me a month or two back infront of my place. My car was down for a month with a big bill afterward. I had to take a day off from work because I didn't have a car. I'm a family man barely trying to do 9 to 5 to take care of my family. You're hurting my whole family thieves 👪
What’s going to happen is ins company’s are going to make cat theft a required part of your policy in Ca. Like they did with making uninsured motorist. Price goes up for everyone.
I dont want too sound racist but sawsaw is an Eastern term just saying like Mexican word of the day wheelchair "Me and Jose only have one pickle for lunch no problem wheelchair" Class dismissed there will be a pop quiz on Wednesday
My roomate just had his Cat taken from a Honda Accord this week. So the thief stole the car and relocate it to another neighborhood. Removed the Cat and left the car there. A neighbor came to our house and told us where the car was located.
I mean... why not? The thieves have little to lose... even IF they're caught, they'd be right out anyway and even if they stay in jail... it's still better than being homeless
"Whatever works to slow them down." - How about armed citizens with a 45 or 9mm to permanently slow them down. This State is getting ridiculous; conceal carry for all legal gun owners. That'll shift the outcome of these and other crimes to the favor of the citizen.
A simple solution is to pass legislation that the buyers buying will serve 20 years in prison for possession of a stolen Catalytic Converter. This will put a stop to Catalytic Converter theft real quick. But no, the politicians are getting kickbacks from the same people buying the Catalytic Converter.
Oh brilliant. That's how they stopped drug dealers also, with long sentences. 20 years for murder - and 20 years for stealing a catalytic converter. That'll fix it.
@@GT-mn3bx They are not where they are sold, they are sold to brokers who ship them in pallets to processors that strip out the metal. Organized Crime, just like stealing cars used to be, that is too hard now, stealing cats is EASY.
If the part isn't worth more than $950 , the DA won't prosecute. Forget the assault, possession of a firearm, etc. So more crime in the Area by the bay
My cousin got his stolen twice in the span of months while his was parked in his own driveway. Second time around, he caught one in the act, and got a rock thrown at him. We’ll never be able to go out to start shooting and ask questions later in this State. CA wants to allow the perps to take the first shot before we get our turn.
*how to prevent Cat thief? 1) dont have a cat in the first place because cat is not necessary to make a car work. 2) upgrade your car with air lift system so you can lower your car so low to the ground that even an ant cant get in.*
I welded a steel plate under my catalytic converter at the shop. Will keep the thieves away. Sometimes these thieves don't give a damn when you confront them. I suggest you don't approach them because some will shoot for these things. Go get one installed! 🙌🏼
They are $50 to $300 each, easy money for criminals, takes 10 minutes, then create $2000 expense for your victim. Gotta stop it, guns ain't gonna help.
Thieves will only become more adaptable to each circumstance they encounter. I remember back in the day, chop shops would drive around at night in tow trucks and steal your vehicle, and strip it entirely to sell the parts. Now thieves only steal catalytic converters.
If I caught someone under my car, I'd grab the FOB and hit remote start from the safety of my house while calling 911. If your outside, just jump on the car and start bouncing. Kinda hard to shoot to shoot through all the metal
Wouldn't be easier to get a job instead of going under a car with saw to cut some part of used car in the street and run the risk of getting arrested or killed? These guys are so dumb
What is the PD doing in auto related thefts and people stealing and jumping into peoples backyard. These guys are violent. What are the stats. Why can’t we hear PD public communication on this issue?
It's so frustrating because it's usually older cars that get their cats stolen and they belong to people with lower income. They steal a part that will only get them maybe $200-$800 but it'll cost the owner $1500-$3000 to fix. I'd assume the thieves also need the money but it's just keeping more people down in the process.
It would be really horrible if a bystander happened to drive by while the thief was under the jacked car and happened to hit the car or jack on accident and just drive off.
@@plpfctn2007 no. Progressive paradises like CA are a joke though. Tent cities, people pooping in the streets, addicts nodding off in the public, sky high crippling taxes and regulation, water and power shortages, sensible businesses and people leaving the rot. Decriminalize theft under 950 and defund the police and then act surprised when criminals take advantage as crime spikes. Oh sure but keep rambling that unrelated rhetoric diversity as a strength and having a fifth largest economy.
@@agentorange20 everything you said about california, the richest and most powerful state, is wrong. but you didn’t deny disliking black or brown people. Gotcha buddy. Typical trump lover.
I have thought about using some extremely strong epoxy and some tungsten carbide rods to make a saw blade killing barrier where thieves would normally try to cut through.
And thanks to California's stricter than normal emissions laws you're not allowed to replace your stolen catalytic converter with a cheaper 3rd party catalytic converter unless it's been tested/approved in the state of California which for cars like the Prius is literally ZERO other options, instead of a $300 fix, you're looking at a $3000 fix
Very true. And there are more than just catalytic converter thieves, watch out for muffler shops. I have a Jeep Cherokee which needed a muffler and the guy told me I needed a catalytic converter and the price will be $1600. Well the vehicle just passed smog a couple of moths earlier and it wasn’t throwing any engine codes so I knew that was garbage. I asked him why so much and who makes it. He told me Walker and I saw the last 3 numbers and later found the same CARB converter for $520, they bolt in. I saw on a Jeep forum someone bought an out of state catalytic converter and their vehicle passed smog emissions but he couldn’t get a certificate since his converter wasn’t a CARB one. So does a CARB converter simply stamped with just another number since it appears another one works just as well and costs over twice the price?
Best way to prevent catalytic converter theft…recall the warped DA’s in California and through these ahole thieves in jail. Enough of the catch an release. Crimes need consequences
Wouldn’t it be easier to just ask for $100 in exchange for not stealing the converter? I mean being a thief or a criminal is a very dangerous job and a lot of people are taking to that profession now because it’s very easy and lucrative. I mean people should just pay up that’s just all there is to it.
This is a serious problem. Check Copart which is a place which auctions off salvaged cars. Look in their inventory and notice vandalism you will find several Honda Accords, Honda CRV’s and Toyota Prius at these lots for this very reason. My brother-in-law was a victim and since he didn’t have comprehension on his insurance his car went to Copart since it would have cost over $2000 to fix and the idiot who did this maybe got $50-60.
What a beautiful peaceful culture! Pillars of the community all of them. With their benevolent contributions to society, there is nothing they can’t accomplish. Let’s all give them our full love and support. Despite all the statistics and hateful propaganda being shoved in our faces everyday, the obvious truth is plain for decent human beings to see.
LMAO! Want a shurefire way to stop cat thieves? Airbag your car and drop it to the ground when you park it. You can get them so low you can't even get a floor jack under them.
