Suspicious Device left in Car of Deceased Man at Sonic - Oak Grove, KY (8/20/24) 

⚫️8/20/24: Suspicious Device in Car⚫️
Oak Grove, Ky. - At approximately 4:48 p.m. behind the Sonic on Fort Campbell Boulevard, OGPD received a call about a man going through a mental crises. The man ran into the cornfield where police found him deceased with a self inflicted gunshot wound. Shortly after, while police were searching his car that was parked in front of the Sonic, they discovered a suspicious device inside. Officers immediately evacuated the restaurant and areas close by. Fort Campbell Boulevard was shut down from Thompsonville Lane to Gate 7 Road. Oak Grove requested the Fort Campbell bomb squad to be dispatched to the area for an investigation of the device. Both a robot and a bomb technician looked inside the car. At about 10 p.m., it was cleared by the bomb squad and the road was reopened. The incident is still under investigation and no other details were available.
