I signed the petition against Prince Harry receiving the Pat Tillman award. My humble grandfather served in World War 1 and World War II. My grandfather went to an early death to Arlington National Cemetery. I am beyond appalled that Prince Harry would be nominated or even wanting to accept this award.
As an American, we're outraged that Harry is receiving the Pat Tillman Award. Pat Tillman was a football star who walked away from his lucrative career to serve his country after 9/11. Sadly, he died. He became an American hero. Harry isn't a hero or American. This is utterly disgraceful!
The award is supposed to be given to one who shows traits demonstrated by Pat Tillman. Selfless hero isn’t a description I’d use to describe Harry. Invictus has many of such hero’s. Harry didn’t even set up Invictus alone. He takes all the credit for doing so, though. Selfless he isn’t.
It's disgusting that ESPN should give this award to a man child who has gone out of his way to betray his family and country. If Harry had a grain of decency, he would politely decline. I don't care what award ceremony Meg comes up with, I'd never watch or support it. I imagine that any decent celebrity would also avoid attending.
As an American, I don’t mind H&M buying silly, meaningless awards. Pat Tillman was a true American hero. He gave up a secure, high paying job in the NFL for front-line military service. Pat died a hero and the entire country is so proud and grateful for his sacrifice. As for those fighting in war, all gave some and some gave all. Pat gave all. Harry, not so much.

This isn't the first time ESPN has been involved in controversy and it will not be the last. Pat Tillman was an ALL AMERICAN HERO. He gave up a successful relatively safe football career that he loved to selflessly serve and protect a country and it's people from harm. As so many true warriors have done he ran into the fire not away. There are countless numbers of Americans like Tillman far more deserving of recognition than a former royal who isn't even a citizen. This decision by ESPN is one of their most egregious! The American people are once again outraged and disgusted. Just as they were with the appearances of Harry and his wife Meghan Markle at the Camp Pendleton event leaving many of us numb and demoralized!

I heard a YT channel talking about Visa paperwork and that applicants are asked if they have received awards supporting their importance to be here or something like that. I do not know if it is a live broadcast and there may be network plans to edit or cut to commercial quickly to cover such up or have a technical difficulty to cover for a short time (they reportedly use seat fillers too). Also there is a speculation that Harry will accept via video even if he lives about 2 hrs. up the road.
