Sutter Medical Center Sacramento has welcomed a new role to its neonatal intensive care unit team: human milk technicians, also known as "dairy fairies." The milk techs gather breast milk from mothers who have babies in the neonatal intensive care unit and take it to a sterile preparation area where they "mix" the milk for each individual baby.
