Born and bred in Morden and Sutton (now in Devon) and what memories, especially seeing again the beautiful (demolished) Angel Bridge (over the Angel Hill road, Rosehill to Sutton). Recognised many of the buildings in these photos. Great, thank you.
Thank you . This brought back happy memories from the 1960s when I had a girlfriend who lived just off Rose Hill. Greetings from an ex-pat living in the Philippines❤❤❤❤❤
I lived in Morden from 48 to 73. Sutton was a favourite shopping area. Often travelled to Banstead end of Sutton to go to Sutton and cheam hospital for eye treatment. Got the 264a bus from Morden station, a bag of Milady toffees would last me the journey. The accompanying music was excellent. Thank you.
I've looked at several of your videos of Merton, Sutton and others. I wanted to thank you for putting these videos together. Just seems like such a peaceful time. I enjoy escaping from real life watching these. Thank you x
11:35 - the parade of shops in Green Lane, Morden. About 60 paces from where I'm typing this. Must've been taken in the late 20's to early 30's when the St Helier estate was being built. A launderette, a butchers, a bakers, a post office, the 'oil shop' which had a pet parrott... All gone.
Yeah, you're right. And a good fishnchip shop! I went past this rather strange looking parade of shops in the 60s on the way to school, cubs etc. Last shop at other end, one that stuck out from others, was for years a bicycle shop.
@@brianbanks703 It was still a bike shop in the mid-70's, I got a few bits and bobs from there. In the 80's onwards, it was Norry's car mechanics, not sure if it's still that now. There is still a chippy, presumably in the same location. Memories of chips and a can of Cresta - it's frothy, man!
