Fun seeing more products! Saw a Race in person for the first time at the 14 Peaks Ultra last weekend, build quality is great. Also the race (event!) is great by the way - highly recommend!
Yess! Definitely welcome more products especially if they’re this Good! 🔥 We agree, the original race was an absolute beast of a watch so it’s lovely to see Suunto bring in a more accessible version for people with small wrists 😉
excellent video and interesting watch :) currently deciding between the race s and the vertical. are all the new software updates (climb assist, direct watch face customization, new watch faces, etc) also coming to the vertical?
Great question! I’ve not had a chance to ask Suunto about each individual feature.. if I was to guess (pure speculation) I would expect ALL of these features to come to the Vertical with one exception.. the nap 💤 feature
great video, full of life as always with Abby 🌞. It seems that Suunto has decided to focus everything on Amoled screens: for the S version they chose the Race instead of the Vertical and the new Ocean also has the Amoled screen, is this the end of the MIP?
A Ray Of Sunshine! ☀️ You’d never believe she recorded this with zero prep & 5 minutes before instructing her yoga class (the only time we had), she’s a natural 🔥 I hope it isn’t the end of MIP. There’s still a massive market for it (admittedly it’s getting smaller).. hopefully one day they make a “Vertical S” for women (and dudes with small wrists) who want great battery life but find the current Vertical too big 🤞🏽 or maybe they refine the Vertical with a “Vertical 2” and slimmer dimensions.. who knows. Although, for similar performance you have to get a much larger Coros 2S or Fenix 7X, so they are leading the way with battery-life:weight ratio Thanks for the comment Rob ❤️
Thank you for the review Abie! Always love your down to earth real life opinions. Did you perhaps see at the ball sport segments soccer? And what do you think of gorilla glass? Will it be durable enough, or do we need to wait for a sapphire version?
Awh thankyou! You’d like to see the soccer function in the full review? We can do that 🙈⚽️ This watch is definitely going to take a beating so we’ll let you know.. it’s a flat screen protected by the bezel & it’s smaller frame will mean less knocks/bashes.. & Suunto are King at durability so I wouldn’t worry tbh. Or if you are worried you could potentially look at screen protectors but I think you’ll be absolutely fine without one ❤️
@@ActiveIdeas that would be great and quite unique, you don't see that very often in reviews 😁. Ok thank you, hope that the durability of the Suunto is on par as always. Furthermore, it's great to see DC Rainmaker is also positive about this update of the Race. Should give Suunto some more momentum.
@ChristianSlagter yeah! What’s not to love with this, there’s quite literally no RRP competition for this watch at the moment, it’s going to force the market to change. Carbon offset, offline maps, super bright amoled screen, great battery life.. affordable. Suunto are leading the way here so it’s momentum they deserve 👏🏽 .. looking forward to watching DC’s review.. just going to source some coffee & cake fist 🍿 Okay cool.. before I got into running I was actually a mad Soccer fan so I have some tricks up my sleeves for this ⚽️⚽️⚽️
@ChristianSlagter unfortunately I don’t have a Race S yet (waiting for the buy now button to go live) 🤣 Only Abie has access to one .. the earliest a full review will come is next week if Abie has the time in between work 👍🏽 Thanks for the support though ❤️
Abie would tell you she manifested it 🙈 Cheers! We actually bought a mic for this video but then I left the receiver at home rushing around haha. You live you learn. We filmed this last night in Norfolk, UK :)
This is a good move from Suunto. I know many women who have stuck to Garmin specifically because of the S range. It's not even that they really think Garmin is great, but Suunto in general beit a Race, vertical or an Ocean size wise is pretty masculine. I do know many women who do like the bigger watches for the screen size, but most want it to be comfortable. But Suunto we still need that £200 budget option 😁
Yep, we applaud Suunto for this release.. maybe even a standing ovation!? The materials used, the quality of the software & app.. full carbon offset … advanced offline mapping system .. this will have competitors shaking 🙈🤣
@@ActiveIdeas Yes I agree. After years of everyone saying Suunto is lagging behind, we can now say Suunto is legitimately on fire. The budget option would be the last piece of the puzzle. I can honestly say there's no reason now not to buy a Suunto.
We do, I have a detailed video coming this week for the Ocean! 🌊 There’s so much it does (scuba, free dive, etc) I haven’t had the time to test it all yet .. but It’s been my daily driver since the release so the full review will be in-depth 👊🏽
@@ActiveIdeas Excellent. Not to put any pressure on you, but your review is probably going to be the deciding factor to replace my Vertical. I already know it will be a good vid. Till then👊
Suunto offer soooo many modes for cyclists, indoor, outdoor, road, gravel, mountain biking, motorcycling and “custom” mode where you can crate your own. A good option for cyclists. Suunto can connect to power meters and external heart rate straps but you may have to check over your compatibility with power meter (not too sure how this works tbh as I don’t have one)’
