I love this series. The Suwannee is on my list as I have already kayaked the Alapaha and the Santa Fe and they were awesome! What a beautiful place on God’s creation! Can’t wait for the last video. Great content and God bless!

Thank you so much, James! It was really cool seeing those rivers come into the Suwannee. Especially the Santa Fe- it was wide! But it was a great trip! Thanks again!!

Those morning reflections on the water looked beautiful. Looks like it was cold when you first launched this day. The manatee footage was really cool, too. Nice work, brother.

Thanks, John! Yes, it was a little cool on this day, but it warmed up fairly nicely. Overall really mild weather except for the last day!

WOW that was an amazing paddle The section at Fanning Spring was so cool & now I know what a manatee sounds like. 😊

Thanks for sharing the manatee encounter. I had to look it up because I thought they were using echolocation like dolphins (they aren't). I think they are genuinely communicating with each other.

That's cool! I didn't really look up much about the sounds other than to confirm they do make those sounds. They are neat creatures!

Those manatees were COOL!! Would've almost made the whole trip worth it, without all of the other stuff! Such a good video, Dan. Thanks for sharing.

I love those "paddle under" shots like around 3:12...but I just know that I am going to o that one day and it is going to end up as a blooper reel when a snake falls off of that limb and wraps around my shoulders. Or one of those tragic tiktok videos, "Wathc Brad Moore from Mountains & Moore suffer a heart attack!"

Let's hope not 🙂 dad got a cottonmouth bite while tube fishing--they CAN and DO bite underwater. Got him on the anklebone so not much venom got in.

@@robjones8733 😳😬🫣 I had a large black snake get in my boat once while wading through grass in a shallow stretch. It was quite the shock for both of us when I stepped on him getting back into my canoe. 😂😂😂

Yeah, I generally try to avoid going under limbs for that reason, but because they do look cool I take a chance every now and then...LOL!! :D

So...what exactly is one supposed to do about "Jumping Sturgeon"???
@robjones8733

lol you know I thought it was paddlefish that were the issue. Not much you can do except scream. 🤗

Ha, ha- I'm sure it's for the faster boats. But an expected fish to the face would certainly throw a slow (and small) boat off-balance very quickly!! :-D

@@SouthernPaddleraverage length of Gulf Sturgeon in the Suwannee is 5 feet, average weight 40 lbs, they can leap up to seven feet out of the water--maximum estimated weight is around 200 lbs 🤗😵😵‍💫 in 2015 a five year old girl was killed by one 😳😦😦 they are a protected species btw--info grabbed from the NW FL fish and conservation site. I think their spawn season is a bit later than when y'all went and our earlier trip as well. Expert tip is to stay close to the shoreline, they are less likely to come zooming out of the water if it is shallow, or so they say. Sturgeon strike map available at the Florida Fish and Wildlife site 😳😳 apologies for all the emoji's
