I love this movie and soundtrack. Soundtracks back then seemed to be in sync with the story and characters in the movie. This always seemed like Andie 's song - she is left of center the outcast wondering about the rich popular and handsome Blaine. The video here represents that well.
It does! I agree. This soundtrack was absolutely in sync with the characters in this film. Like "Please, please, please let me get what I want," and "Wouldn't it be good". Great music and so relatable!
I haven’t, since my sister and I were children, when this movie was first released, so I can’t really relate. But it was such a good movie, though. My high school years were during the 90s, and I don’t think there were too many boys that I liked, since I got picked on a lot. But the feeling of being “left of center” was pretty familiar. Not so much in terms of financial status, but rather when it came to socialization, since I have Autism and didn’t really know how to go about it. I hadn’t been diagnosed yet, but it was still difficult. I’m lucky to have a good group of friends, now, though.
I had a crush on a girl but was too worried about what my friends would think, exactly like the movie! I just wasn't mature enough to make my own decisions, and I still regret it to this day!

Loved the movie...Had a lyric for this song stuck in my head this evening...Completely forgot who sang it...I was lead by a whisper from the Universe. Maybe my Guardian Angel has a sense of humor and is a Gen X'r ...So Random lol...Still a pity song today in 2019...Just proves good music never goes out of style...

I have a love hate relationship with this movie. When I first saw it I immediately did not like Andi because Duckie is the most amazing handsome fun guy a girl could have and she wants Blaine! Even the book they made for this movie Andi ends up dancing the night away with Duckie.
