A long time ago, I was a rock and metal head.. I heard this song on a UK tv channel whilst waiting for of all things Dave lee Roth , Californian girls... it was a voting song and this won... it changed my music outlook completely..., and yes I’ve seen her 3 times ... thank you Suzanne Vega

Intelligent funny and lovely as we know her. I think if you listen to the lyrics closely and take every word for what it is you can't miss the meaning. But that's the hard part about Suzanne Vega lyrics(and the part I love) You've really got to listen and think about it and put your soul into it...and sometimes even look stuff up At least that's what I enjoy doing with every song of hers. Really get beneath the surface. I love that.

Her analysis is all chainmail armor but he song is very vulnerable compelling and brilliant.
