It took me a few times to get the beginning right, as my stitches weren’t lining up right. After starting and pulling it part a few times I finally got it. I did the tassel a little different but it still looks good
If you can count, do basic single and double crochet stitches, and follow directions, you'll have yourself a bookmark in no time if you practice!👍😊 Make sure you start out with good habits of holding your yarn or crochet thread and your work correctly. I say this because it's important to have good control over the tension of your thread/yarn AND it'll help you crochet faster once you get the hang of it. Also, if working with the tiny thread seems daunting, practice with worsted weight size 4 "yarn". This repeat pattern makes a nice washcloth if you use cotton "yarn". All you have to do is crochet a chain count in even numbers the same width you want your washcloth to be and follow this tutorial. Best wishes and have fun learning! 😊
I am a beginner and must be counting rows incorrectly because I got to 16 my bookmark is about 9” long! But it’s beautiful and I can’t believe I actually made this. Thank you!
I really like this pattern! 🙂 I made an adjustment to make a two-tone one because my friend likes the 2 colors together. I did the second color at the top with 3 rows of sc and put the 2 colors in the tassel. Will make a lot of these the original way and two-toned. Thanks so much for sharing!
Love this bookmark!!! On a second one. I'm using #10 crochet thread because I have a lot and Boye steele hook #3/2.10 mm. Great for gifts😊. Thank you!!!
How did it turn out with the thread? What size hook did you use and are you or did you use a starch to make it stiff? Apologies for all the questions….
I made this tonight with no. 20 crochet thread because I am an idiot. It’s beautiful, but a 0.6mm crochet hook is hard to work with. Going to do one with a 0.9 tomorrow ❤
Sorry to bother, it looks to me as if the lady is working the back of the chain during first row (I haven't yet developed a crochet-hawk eye, being a novice): did I see right?
So pretty! I am going to try. I have a question, in the beginning and after, the sc and the dc are both in front loop of the st, or it is one in the front loop and the other in the back loop?
I just made my first one and am starting my second. I used Lionbrand 24/7 size 4. I dropped a hook size and am using a #3 hook. I chained 10 to get a 2” x 7” bookmark. It is quite dense but I love it. I don’t have any #3 yarn and wanted to get going on this project.

At the top right corner click on the settings tab. You can slow the speed down. You can also pause the video. That might help. It’s what I have to do a lot on some tutorials.
