Suzhou has been one of the Great cities of China for millennia and is full of history. In this video i will NOT however being showing you what Suzhou is most famous for (it's classical gardens) but rather will be exploring Suzhou's many ancient pagodas - honestly, some of the best I've seen. This was a fantastic day out!!!!

Watching NICK's canal series all the way down, from Yangzhou to Zhenjiang and then to Suzhou, the style along the way seems to be changing. Unlike Shandong, a typical Jiangnan style gradually emerges. Suzhou is a developed city, and it is pleasing to see that the pagodas and temples there are well taken care of. Thanks to NICK for the wonderful introduction and hard editing, I wish you good luck and a smooth journey!!

@@nickinchina2552 I fondly remember my visit in spring 1987. I can confirm that some of the largest pagodas were standing at that time as well. 😉 Like most I was mostly focused on the beautiful gardens.

I visited Xi'an during 端午节, it was a nightmare. The whole world was crowding in the city. I can imagine how locals live daily, there was traffic jams all the time even 7am or 1am. Crazy. Terra-cotta Warriors and 大唐不夜城 was super crowded, you can't move. 😂

Suzhou it's incredible, i love how it has a lot of traditional places. Btw i'am so sad, I was hoping to see perhaps the most famous one in the most famous temple in Suzhou, the Hanshan Temple Pagoda :(( Im joking, Maybe for another video haha. Amazing video as always Nick, as a lover of Chinese culture and architecture your channel it's a treasure!
