Today I'm reviewing my 9 year old Suzuki bandit 1250 and see how it has faired with the last year of abuse. Feel free to like and subscribe or follow me on twitter: @TBBSBailOut
With not a lot of effort, the Bandit can make HEAPS more power/torque. www.holeshot.com/images/suzuki/bandit/650-1250/products/efi-supertune-pro/dynocharts/1250_dynochart05.jpg
I have an 07 plate, bought it brand spanking new when they first came out in the UK. It took the dealer 4 weeks to get hold of a blue one. Very nearly 10 years old and it has done 65K. The quality is the usual crap from Suzuki, who by the way don't care when you complain "it's built to a budget, so what do you expect" is all you get out of them. (sorry went into my I hate Suzuki rant for a moment). Other than it's build quality it's a brilliant bike with more grunt than a truck load of pigs. No idea how you're getting 200 miles out of a tank, most I have ever had is 150. It sounds excellent with a race can on it as the air ram induction thingymajig makes it pop and crackle on the over run ( you can hear it on this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1McuiEgYiqs.html ). While we're on the subject of exhausts, the mild steel bit at the end of the collector box will rust an blow eventually (like all bandits do). Don't buy a cheap replacement header like I did, get it repaired buy just bandits. It's a much better option which is what I ended up doing in the end. www.justbandits.com/ The other common fault is with the fuel pump giving up the ghost, mine started at around 40K. There is a fix if your tech minded nswbandits.forumotion.net/t1379-fuel-pump-fix . I could go on for ever. But don't let this put you off, it's a great bike and I've loved owning mine. Have fun and enjoy, but most of all keep it shiny side up.
love my bandit. going to do some mods to increase the power a bit, about 30%. all rounder with cheap upgrades to really let it stretch it's legs? yes please.
Quit the profanity it spoils what you intended to do.... After about the first minute I got fed up with the unwarranted elderly insults and the bad language. Grow up.
I guess there is people that think the cannot sound men or cool enough if the don't swear every 2 seconds, all the opposite want they sound is like a complete airhead
You say it can pull from 20mph in 6th gear, wow! Now how long do you think that bike will last, treating it that way? What problems did the bike have when you got it. (you said it's second hand, right)?
It was more of a 'hmmm how slow can i go in top.. ah right now i know.' than anything. No problems to speak of, it hadn't really been used before i got it. The paint was starting to bubble on the engine but as fair as i can recall that was it, it honestly just needed a nice long run to get the cobwebs out.
Have you ridden a 1250 bandit? If not then ride one,the torque on these motors, will blow you away!ii Have owned a bandit 1250 for 5 years now,i have owned v twins ,and allsorts of bikes over the years, but the Bandit rules,on sheer acceleration.Up to about 70 mph,the bandit will cane most bikes, after that most decent 600s will see them off.The fun is under 70mph,imo,because as i found out in 2001 ,doing 153.7 miles an hour does not make your life easy,it costs more to insure your vehicle, and messes up your life.Peace.Atb Ray.
