I’m the lucky original owner of a 2008 Suzuki Burgman 650 and it’s been the best piece of machinery I’ve ever owned. Never gave me 1 single problem as I gave it minimal maintenance over the years (oil, battery, tires, etc...). You want to talk about Power? Holy $(:&@“(:$&@/()&$. I now have 40,000 miles on this amazing bike. Was lucky enough to get mine brand new for $7,500.00 in total. I’m pretty sure these Burgmans are now going for $10,000.00 or more nowadays. I affectionately get many jokes, ribbing, etc about owning a so called “SCOOTER”. But I don’t sit around polishing the chrome or sit around the coffee shop chatting as many people do putting 500 miles a summer on their bike. Know nothing about the BMW product and I’m only speaking about my personal ownership experience of the Burgman. And I’m sure the BMW is a fine bike as well.
Burgman any day of the week ! I bet BMW thank their lucky stars that Kymco allowed them to stick their badge on their bikes, otherwise it would be in for warranty repairs more often than it was rode !!
My God, it's 2024, this video was made TEN years ago and both models look FRESH. These could come out as the 2025 model and I wouldn't question it. EDIT : Based on the comments, the Burgman is still the king of all scooters, then the Honda Goldwing is next.
What's this, teasing 2020 style. A video comparing buttons, storage road grip etc. on Suzuki Bergman 650 & BMW C650GT...No mention of only thing any prospective buyer may like to know is price. Nope, you decided not to say, even in Germany...What's the logic behind that?
Dont kniw about the 650 BMW but the 650 Burgman is a rocket ship it will blow the doors off a Honda silverwing and a Suzuki Burgman 400 will keep up with a Honda silverwing as both the Burgmens have twist and go or paddle shift plus the Honda silverwing gets horrible gas mileage compared to the Suzuki's bergman's😊
Hai Burgman is not at all impresive scooter acording to the very costly service which I'm personally done. Why ? Because I used power buttons fir acceleration and than I was malted bear rings and all plastic transmissions the should be from metal. Cost? 1500 euro repair. Belt was 2 cm longer because I used yellow power buttons and destroy in 10 minut completely everything in motor . No that's 19 years old concept of the motor wich is not costy but very expensive and not reliable scooter at all. Maybe for cafe to cafe pousing, but not for long travelling around EU because no one want him to repair. Not even on Suzuki servis. They said, go somewhere else. So please, Dear Suzuki, please make something new like Honda Integra with big storage undee sit for two helmets. And new motor without shaft. Its heavy like a cow to push if he let you down and he will if you used electtonic. Pg. G
I drive Burgman .. for some years now.. and my brother drive BMW .... After all, my Burgman is still solid but his BMW cost him twice over that price after all repear n shit...lol.. SUZUKI 👍
I have the Suzuki Burgman, I think it is the benchmark for maxi scooters. The manual mode gives the rider more control over the machine as well as allowing the bike to go into overdrive giving better fuel economy. Fold in mirrors and the adjustable screen which moves quickly are a bonus. Thanks for your review of both machines.
i know im randomly asking but does any of you know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
@Matteo Kody thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Really? :-) Exactly the design I think TMax is by far the most shaped Scooter on the market with its airplaine shape. Burgman looks a bit stubborn. Hey just my oppinion.
For those who are lovers of racing sports bikes like you I suppose, they will for sure prefer Tmax but I think that Burgman has a more dominating shape with more class and people of all ages will feel well at ease on it !!!
Burgman is for sure at many points better. Stronger engine, more space, perhaps more comfortable. But the design of Tmax is the most sportive yes. I drive MT-09.
Thumbs up with the Burgman 650, with everything except the Cutout switch on the Side Stand, I`ve disconnected mine as it always Clogged up and stopped the Scoot from running, other than that, I would say it`s a Perfect Machine !!
I have had a Burgman 650 for 4 years now and at first i thought it lacked an identity.. Having been a motorcycle rider for many years i felt it different as one would but i soon realised that it was a wolf in sheeps clothing., It doesn't handle like a scooter but like a motorcycle. You have a load of front end control due to its size. Its stable and planted to ride with no surprises. It holds the road well and securely. Its a little hard to push forward as its always in gear but pulling backwards is a lot easier. On the road its as stable as they come and if one has to put it into corners etc it will behave with certainty. The engine is great and handling is superb but limited to lean angle when cornering due to the footboards and centre stand however its more like a bike tourer than anything else and as such one can't expect it to lean like a street bike or sports but a true tourer. Get the speed and angle right on bends before and dont rely on more countersteering to get you out if you go in too hot. as it may not lean any more. Its not a problem as a lot of pleasure can be had just being on it all day or all week it's so comfortable,. I have never had it over too far yet and ride it sensibly. . Top speed is apparently and acceptably between 110 and 120.mph and in power mode it will out accelerate a lot of motorcycles and definately all cars. 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds Wow. It will tour two up fully loaded at 80 mph or faster on autobarns etc. Economy is 55 mpg in cold weather and up to 70 mpg in hot weather with comfortable cruising and enjoyment with not pushing it type ride outs. They are not making them at the moment [ 2019/20]due to the cost of increased exhaust controls but its worth buying a second hand one and for sales they do hold their value, one of the best buys for under £7000 at the moment. PS don't be an idiot like the riders on the video. This machine is as powerful a machine as many 650 cc motorcycles and is a goer and it should be respected so always wear suitable armoured clothing from helmet to boots with gloves in between... [ and all other clothing te he lol.] be safe and ride it safe and its a pleasure to be on.
@john ferguson Thanks for that John its encouraging to receive acknowledgment but they are few and far between. I to am 71 years of age and been riding since i was 15 years of age. Have accumulated a lot of knowledge and experience in that time and just wish to pass that on to others less fortunate than myself. I can usually be found putting my two penneth into some videos particularly motorcycle and advanced riding ones with little snippets of info that I have accumulated in my years of experience in the hope that it makes others think and behave themselves and enjoy two wheeled transport. I understand that if you put in my name you ca follow me and what I input. That is if you want. cheers. Although they are not making the 650 at this time due to costs of new exhaust regulations there are plenty of second hand ones for sale with low mileage so choose well, enjoy and always ride with your safety in mind.
The engine in the BMW is made in Taiwan! Just a cheap way to make money in the scooter market. Find out what the maintenance on the BMW cost's compared to the Burgman and there is no contest, Burgman solid WINNER!!
Tri Pacer Yes, the engine is made by Sym which also used to make bikes for Honda and have been in business for many many years. Sym is a high quality company as is Kymco, another Taiwan scooter manufacturer. You seem quite unaware of what you're talking about.
The BMW may be more expensive to maintain - but I doubt it - in any event the Burgman looks like a truck with a layout like a car - so why bother - just by the car.
I am so sick of these disrespectful VIDEOS!!! I owned both Burgman and BMW scooters and I currently own 2016 bmw 650gt scooter. And this coming from a guy that owned 4 motorcycle..Burgman or no other touring motorcycle can out perform a bmw scooter with a Molossi variator.. Hands down this bike shocked the Shit out of you and I can’t wait to start posting some videos of me embarrassing some..600s , Honda goldwings , Harley street gladiators .. With a fucking scooter!!!
...and six years on from this video, the Honda Silverwing 600 still holds it's value due to the simplicity and efficiency of the design, it's excellent reliability, and all-round performance. That's why I bought one!
@@dan43213 I've ridden both the 650 and 400 Burgmans and still prefer the Silverwing 600. The 400 is okay but not powerful enough for me. The complexity and reliability of early drive trains in the 650 left me cold plus the dashboard leaves no room for my knees.... I'm 6'2". A friend has a 650 and struggles to keep up with me. I rode both BMWs and they felt sorta "agricultural" and too pricey overall.
Well mr. Honda silverwing the 400 Suzuki Burgman would keep up with that easy and the 650 Burgman will absolutely blow the doors off of the Honda silverwing plus the Honda silverwing gets terrible gas mileage
I've ridden both Suzukis and the 400 would not catch the Silverwing 600. The Bergman 650 might but it's big and fat and wide with no room for my knees (the 400 was the same for knee room). The fuel consumption on the Silverwing was much improved after 2007 with revisions to the fuel injection.@@danielbohland5271
Honda is honda ! My brorher had a Burgman for 3 years and it had so many problem ! it was 20 time in service for so many peoblems.... Than he toke the honda SW and only did the service manutention in 5 years This do the difference
Had to sell my 400 when I moved from NY to FL. I bought it used with about 7000 miles on it and put 30,000 on it. I was able to hit 90mph on it and it was very stable.
Ich habe einen Burgmann 650 von 2004. Er ist recht schwer mit seinen 270 kg Leergewicht, deshalb nutze ich ihn auch selten. Er hat erst 11000 km runter.
I have the 2017 650 birdman it is the best scooter that you can buy it is excellent I have a Sharp stereo system on mine saddlebags and trunk and I take it on long trips I get 45 miles to a gallon it is the best burgman 650 I ever owned it's a 2017 scooter Steve
Mike Murphy ...the 400 is awesome. it's the best of all three Burgs. Efficient and zoom zoom. I changed the exhaust to a Yoshi and a few stock cvt parts upgrade AND that baby was getting up to 110 mph without red lining . I shite you not. only thing that suffered was gas millage.
Did you have a problem with your burgman Burning oil at 5000 miles it started burning Oil When you ride on the inner state then I look at the Oil level is down half way from full Have to feel about twice a week do you have this problem??? I have a 2013 400 Suzuki burgman yosamira Exhaust pipe, k&n air filter , All LED running lights.2000watts Shark radio For speakers of front.
T-max is the best the shape is dope like an aircraft, but I always have to go back to my burgman? Especially the 650 executive version, why? Why? Y? Someone can fix this?
