I don't know why gsxr is not popular in india i think suzuki is the main reoson for it But these are really polpular in outer countries like united states and uk even in gcc Gsxr is really powerful than any other bikes that's why gixxy is the best option of dragsters.. But unfortunately suzuki doesn't consider gsxr 1000 nowadays No updates or even facelifts but this is nightmare of any 1000 bikes in this segment

Gsxr1000 has great reviews all over the world, though Suzuki is not promoting this beautiful bike much, this one's one of the most beautiful superbikes you can get.
