Mr Hagar Motor, first off THANK YOU for posting up these tutorials! My eldest boy is doing his very first engine tear down and he’s using your tutorials here so thank you! 🤩. We are in the states in Gresham, Oregon in case you’re curious thought I’d add that as I’d be curious. Ok, down to brass tacks here, DUDE YOURE A HERO 😂😂! Your videos are being followed like the world will end if not followed exactly as such 😂, I’m not joking. He’s never done this type of wrench turning so he’s a bit overwhelmed and you are the only fella in the entire RU-vid world to post up this type of tutorial so THANK YOU! My boy has mentioned you seem very smart and intelligent so he feels easier following your work here. I just had to comment to tell you. 3 years after you posted this you are helping, tremendously, 3 fellas across the Atlantic. Wow Victor, thank you for your kind words. They do mean a lot to me and to know that my tutorial videos from years ago are still helping those in need of a little guidance is very humbling. What is your boys name? Please tell him, the key to rebuilding is to know when to walk away from a stressful and tense moment of the build. Expect things to go wrong, and welcome them when they do. Hi quick question oil leak looks like is coming out between rear cylinder and engine block I'm thinking is it possible just torque the cylinder head down is that could help. ? THANKS IN ADVANCE for answer

Have you recently had the cylinder heads off and reinstalled???
When I had oil in my front air box it was just that someone had put too much oil in the bike (who would ever do such a thing). The extra oil back up into the air box and it smoked some. I was sure the piston seals were bad, but 2 proper oil changes and it was back up and running well.

This is what confused everything, I personally changed the oil 12 months ago and measured it prior to putting it into the engine. This seemed to get increasingly worse the more I rode it. Leaving me to think that perhaps it was the wrong oil, while it was a very high quality oil, that may of been just the problem, modern oil, old engine never a good combination. An oversight on my part.
Hägar Moto If I’m picturing it correctly there are only 2 routes for oil to take from the engine to the air box. When you tore your carbs apart I didn’t see any oil in the video, so that means it went up through the crank case vent tube?

@@anthonyclerkin Yes exactly, the carbs are clean as they can be that is what confused it, because the spark plug also kept oiling up, which only re-enforced my theory on it being the piston rings. Never mind, learnt a lot, and once the rings are on I will probably and hopefully not have to do them for a decade or two
