Way over priced the Jimny used to be a cheap , 1st gen had terrible engines unless meticulously maintained, don’t get me wrong but you can buy a lot of better cars for the money a 18 month only Volvo for instance for the same money , Mitsubishi outlander is another
@@lweleven3423 The 3 door Jimnys that are made in Japan are incredibly reliable and parts are easy to get. When buying a Jimny you are buying a niche vehicle which is one of the reasons they are expensive. The fact they are so sought after, have a massive cult following, maintain their value over the years and incredibly popular is another. Volvos on the other hand are very expensive to maintain and repair whereas Jimnys are not. Id much rather be stuck out in the middle of nowhere with a broken down Jimny than any Volvo because chances are you will be needing a tow truck with the Volvo and you will have half a chance of getting the Jimny back on the road due to its simple and easy to work on design.
@@dman1848 I’ve had 2 Jimnys, 3 Vitaras and 2 grand Vitaras I was involved 20 years ago in building one of the biggest Suzuki clubs in my area I know a thing or 2 .
Thanks that was a great review of a vehicle I really love! The new Jimny is such an iconic vehicle and I totally understand why it has such a dedicated following. I don't own one yet but hoping to in the future. I will look forward to more videos of your Jimny!
After the 5 door Jimny debut in India , I am looking into a lot of jimny videos kn youtube and then I landed on your video! Loved it , subscribed! Thanks from India!! Waiting for more car videos from you, meanwhile I will scan other available videos on your channel!
@@hiddeninsweden : yes there is quite a fan following in India already for the Jimny! 15000 bookings have already been received in 3 weeks of debut at the Auto Expo 2023. Here is a glimpse of the Jimny I captured ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HEPVz9Y6VMM.html I will also post more videos of 5door Jimny as soon others launched here!
Yes I do enjoy this content about your Jimny. I must confess that when you took your Jimny for a speed test and then heard all that strange 'blanking out' of sound, I thought you must have been swearing (bad language). But now I understand it's so you don't have Police Problems. Right? 120kph is your limit in Jimny? That's impressive. I thought you might have said 85kph. Oddly enough, even though where I live in Australia is quite different to Swedish countryside, the reasons you give for liking your Jimny, are the same reasons that I am interested. As I live on acreage, some distance from town & down a dirt / gravel road & across a creek (often bone dry), we need a second car. Otherwise IF my large 4x4 will not start, then I would be stuck. About your extras - Very tastefully done and highly practical. I have subscribed. = You are stuck with me!! 😊
Great video! Enjoyed every minute! I'm about to purchase a used Jimny in New Zealand and can't wait! Quick question - the dog cage: where did you get this? Is it custom made? Thanks!
Hello sir, today it’s launched in India with 5 door version but same engine. Could u plz put your opinion on 5 door version for daily commute in moderate city drive daily 20 km and occasionally highway drive. Specially stability, engine noise and mileage. Thanks 😊
If the 5 door version has the same motor I guess it will be to slow with 4 people inside, at least for EU road speeds and standards. Don’t worry about engine noice as the wind noice will take over from 50 mph. Also, I guess the 5 door version will have different suspension with hopefully better stability than the 3 door version. Anyway, it’s a fun car to drive, just buy it if you can get hold of one! Thanks for watching!
In Australia these Jimnys are popular infact we live in a col de sac and there is somebody who owns one our son has one and l know that they are sold as small vans because if the emesions but in Australia they are sold as a four seater because we have much less strict emission controls in fact in N.S.W were for vehicles over 5 years old you have to do a yearly regestration inspection and there is no emission testing so my 1997 toyota hilux with a carburetor and no cat converter passes every year l take it and you mentioned rust well it doesn't snow were we live hence no rust in fact my hilux has no rust issues as for the apreciating it happens in Australia because more people want them than Suzuki can provide infact the generation before are selling for what theywe own sold for back in 2017
@@hiddeninsweden I don't know anything about Sweedens rules about inspections on vehicles interesting that you do have inspections as mentioned in N.S.W we do have inspections as for other States in Australia l am not sure but they don't have inspections except for the A.C.T but when you buy a brand new car even if you buy a vehicle thats under five years old it doesn't have to be inspected until its give years l remember l bought a ute that was three years had an inspection done because it was a comercial vehicle but they changed the law and the following l didn't have to have an inspection because the law covered all light vehicles
Yes and no, this is a general fitting for lots of cars from Japan, the one I bought is from here: streettracklife.com/collections/jimny-armrests/products/single-armrest-for-suzuki-jimny-2018
Hi there. Enjoyed your review. I think Suzuki says the roof load limit is 30kg. Do all your roof accessories go over that limit? And would it void your insurance on the car if you crash? Thanks!
Man, I really want Jimny to get imported to Norway. Might toll one myself when I get my savings up, but don’t know if $45K for a Jimny will be worth it 😢
The 3 door is not fast, so I guess the 5 door will be even slower (if the engine is same) But It will be more practical and maybe better handling, but the 3 door look nicer😎
Yes, definitely a dealbreaker for many, the distributor in Sweden have recently announced the last available version (3door) for Sweden, so no 5 seater version here. Thanks for watching!
Great video and probably one of the best reviews around ! One little comment I would make about the rust protection; people say it has bad rust protection because its older generations rust problems - and nearly all japanese cars have similar rust problems due to Japanese environmental regulations prevent manufacturers from using some chemicals. Suzuki say they addressed the problem by extra measures, such as better galvanized steel and rubber coating. If you touch the ladder frame you will notice it is rather soft and squishy and actually coated with plastic. I think with regular pressure wash it should be fine for a good period of time.
Hi! Thanks for watching and your feedback! Yes I did hesitate to spend 800 euros for extra protection (DINITROL® Tuff-Kote Dinol) but since the roads in Stockholm is bombarded with salt on roads I went for it, aslo they told me it added extra noice cancellation, but I don't know. Thanks again!
It is difficult to describe what makes the Suzuki Jimny such an exciting car. While not being particularly strong on any objective parameters, when you get behind the wheel it feels like you have uncovered something none of the other car owners have.
Sadly this car is manufactured in India, but not sold here. I am eagerly waiting for the launch. Here we have two more local 4x4 popular off-roaders, Mahindra thar and force Gurkha, but due light weight and compact size I prefer jimny. Here rumours are, that we may get 5 door version with extended wheelbase.
What does the Suzuki Jimny need from the factory? 10 cm more in wheelbase, a 2 litre, 150 hp motor and 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic transmission.
I Had the Older Jimny and it Had its Flaws,Bad Ride,Low MPG,Very Small Load Area and i Paid 1/2 What this New one Costs and it Was a Brand New One i Had ! Has Every ones Wages Doubled in the Last 15 Years ???
@@hiddeninsweden There Not Being Sold For Much Longer in UK,Dont think There Less Than £24,500 Here !!!! When You Fit a Few Parts Like Better Tyres,Suspension Then its £30,000 I Only Paid £12k For a Defender TD5
An absolutely great review. I am sure you are aware that the Jimny has just been launched in the Indian market as a five door compact SUV. Your honest observations helped me understand the vehicle much much better.
Last video that I watch to convince me to buy a jimny I’ve been watching a lot of reviews about Suzuki jimny I am looking for a car that cheap off road 4 x 4 I’d like to spend my weekends the beach or countryside. Thank you for the review.
Hi there, great video. Waiting for my Jimny LCV to arrive and dreaming of all the mods I wish to add. Quick question please- do you have a link to the dog cage or was it made bespoke for you?
Pleasantly surprised to find a review in Sweden. I’m a Brit, but I live here. We no longer need a big car, but I live “off-piste”, so looking to downsize to a Jimmy. Did you have any issues with Swedish car modification regulations? I want to upgrade suspension and a lift immediately, but I’m concerned I’ll break a modification rule I don’t know of or understand.
Great question! The height span need to be the same as the car travels on the road, and this can’t be measured correctly when inspected. So a moderate lift kit 20-50 mm would pass.
Jimnys for sale in Sweden is spanning from 28000 to 35000€, the cheapest is the slim down 2 seat commercial version and a 4 seater SZ5 is around 30-35k€. A AMG G63 version is also listed for 48000€😱
Don’t remember size and I’m not the owner anymore. But please check out comments, the answer is there at least 2 times. Its is not lifted. Thanks for watching!
