Suzuki RM 85 Project Bike Restoration Pt. 8 - First Start!!! 

I got a rm85 a couple months exactly the same problem was just the air fuel ratio adjust it with the screws now runs perfect

I would suggest taking that inline fuel filter off and just running straight fuel line, it could possibly be straining the mixture if that makes any sense

Check if the intake rubber is broken, my son's RM 85 had exactly the same behaviour and it was the rubber that had a crack in it. I just glued it with some vulcanizing rubber glue.

The clutch plates have a notch on one little corner, they should all line up

Try adjusting the air mixture screw and the fuel mixture screw should be a flat head and philips and the clutch you should try adjusting the clutch perch at the lever

Hey man I’m pretty sure in the fuel petcock there is a built in filter hidden in the gas tank, my 2015 has it but I don’t know about yours, I loved this series watched it all in one night lol

Should show how to install the rear wheel having issues with mine. Did a full tear end rebuild and wheel bearings on mine. Bought it with a big bore kit installed and a pro circuit 2 silencer

the rm85 is better to lift up at the frame instead of the back fender.

Grooving clutch basket will cause that sticky clutch problem. Also if a bike has been sitting, the clutch plates that are in bad oil tend to get really sticky and mess with separation.

I bought a 2002 rm85 for my 11 year old, it has the same problem carb needed to be tuned and the tang on the float needed to be adjusted, both my Yz 250 and rm85 and my old kx 80 I had all creep entering that first gear there just race bike and it’s pretty common but none of em die they just crack the tire. It sound like the bowl isn’t filling up fast enough to fuel the bike... I could be wrong I’m not expert and still learning myself

U need to let the bike idle for a good 25 minutes after a rebuild

Try letting it warm all the way up the 2 strokes do that when they are cold

Try a carb clean, then throw a 10 spark plug in there

Your mixture is probably to thick i just recently got a cr85 and the person we bought it from said for it to be 32.1 we ran 40.1 and it’s to hard to kick
