I check out the new S Cross Suzuki SUV with 1.4 petrol engine and mild Hybrid feature - Suzuki are trying to woo buyers from other popular brands and may succeed in time. Hope to have more car reviews over the coming months.
UPDATE: I purchased a Suzuki S Cross Ultra. 2 months in now and totally delighted with it. For the record I am towing an Eriba 310 Famila caravan, fairly well loaded up with Air Awning etc. and not a bother to the S Cross. Better than the 2020 Hyundai Tuscon 1.6 diesel that I was driving. I traded because the Hyundai was a total disaster: 5 Fuel Pumps replaced / Infotainment system never worked correctly / Fuel Gauge went south / in short, an unreliable nightmare despite only covering 35000Km from new. I wouldnt take one for nothing ! Fuel consumption on the Suzuki is averaging out @ 6.1 Ltr/100Km and towing the Eriba 6.6 Ltr /100Km. First class and hopefully lives up to the Suzuki stable's reliability reputation. At7.04 you mention the lack of digital read out ? Speedo ?? There is: it is available via one of the steering wheel switches or the push pin on the clock face. I agree with you re sound system. Road noise yes, but subjective. Certainly more than most luxury cars but I would say equal to the Hyundai I was driving ( when it worked ) For my vote to date I would recommend this car. I test drove the 'motion' version and for me it seemed very very basic. I think the extra cost for the Ultra model is well justified.
Wow - thanks for that feedback - Suz was a good car and wish I had been given the time to tow wth it too. Sounds like you have a great car and thanks for extra info - we only get a car for a week so its hard to get to know everything about it - Hyundai sounds a disaster - I have a Skoda tdi great car - thanks again for your feedback
why is this car so expensive in england? in my country i ordered it for 21 thousand euros and in uk it costs 25k pounds=30k euros? nice review thank you for the analysis :)
Thank you for your kind comments and for watching the video There can be a lot of discounting in uk on price and most buyers won’t pay that recommend price to be honest it also depends here if you buy a new pre registered model ie the garage sort of bought the car so in a way it now makes the new car a used but isn’t so it has a chink taken off the price my own Skoda was bought that way saving £8 k with 25 miles on clock just 6 weeks old it pays to shop about here Thank you again
Expensive !! 25K Sterling !! Try Ireland querty: the list price on this model is € 37240.00. I have one on order and looing at your price I could almost get 2 !
Cracking review, but always wonder why they offer a snow mode, then only equip the car with "summer" tyres. Having recently trying a good set of "all season" tyres it would make so much more sense and really work! What do you think 🤔
Thank you for that comment My Karoq has same but only fit summer tyres I think all season tyres would be better and fitted as standard too thank you for the time to comment
Was this the automatic or manual version of the car you drove. The reports are the 1.5 full hydrid automatic is not good and you should stick to manual version. I believe the 1.4 mild hybrid automatic is better as the engine is better than 1.5 litre version. Not likely to buy one as I just need 30,000 to go with the deposit!
It has got a didgital speedo on the little 4 inch screen but not the main clocks the only issue ime having is I carnt conect to android auto only with the cable when I pull the cable out it goes of I've tried other android phones but no luck
Yes - its the main dash though most are now digital especially on the high end model, I would see the dealership on advice on that one just normal phone calls on my iphone worked fine hope you get it sorted.
Hi Andy. I normally follow you for caravaning advice - didn't know you did car reviews too. How do you think this will cope as a tow car please? I currently have a 2020 Freedom Twinsport. Usually I tow 'car heavy ' (clothing, food, awning and outdoors furniture in the boot) & 'caravan 'light' (as little as possible other than gas and spare tyre) May one day buy a slightly bigger caravan - Bailey DS2 / Elldis 304 size. Thanks.
