I've just come from the ninja 1000sx, went all over Europe on it. Thousands of miles and it's a good bike , but the Suzuki is a far superior machine, alot less intrusive and more of a riders bike. I would say the Kawasaki is more for the beginner going to a thousand CC mainly because of all the corner and ride AIDS that You as a beginner will need. But I have no regrets at all switching to the Suzuki, it sounds better too. Great review! Fun to your face. I like that. 😂
Hi mate got the same bike 2022 model in Blue it also came with Dunlop sp2 not the best , take my advice change them asap , for Michelin Road 6 great improvement in handling now done 20 ,000 ks 0n them still plenty of rubber left money well spent . Ride safe Frankie from Oz .
Really close to pulling the trigger on one of these but opted for a Ninja 1000sx. Never got to ride the S1000GT but I love the 1000sx! The Suzuki seems sportier than the Kawa…
I bought one of these bikes new 2 years ago love it. done 14600 miles only used in summer so I do a lot of miles. I have been riding bikes for over 50 years owned hundreds of bikes but this is the best It has its faults front brake is wooden standard tyres are terrible. but that engine is fantastic just ordered a new one in red arrives next week louis masters
I keep hearing the same complaints about the brakes on this bike. I bought one recently and have to say that the brakes in no way feel wooden to me. Maybe its because i have a 2024 and they adjusted the tuning? I just cant find an issue with them. They feel responsive and crisp to me.
My 72 plate in black is excellent but I love the red however the PX was ridiculous so I’ve just ordered a new tank and panels in red at just over a grand and have the bike I love in the best colour as I found keeping g the black clean was a pain
Something i just learned yesterday on my ride... The throttle also acts as a cancelation device for the cruise control. There is a little "play" in the throttle when you roll the throttle forward. Always felt like a "less than positive" return position when coming off the throttle. Nothing super annoying, but yea, i noticed it. Well, that is actually a function on the bike. Get onto the highway, set your cruise and then roll that throttle forward. It will disengage. You of course can use the brakes also, but its very convenient that you have an option to just rotate your wrist a millimeter to disengage as well.
I'd like to see a full package ninja for that price brand new. Just came from a 2023 ninja. About £300 difference. Unless that dealer is losing money to sell em?
The prices at Colchester are incredible. The 2024 Performance is priced at £11.749 Thanks for letting me know. I'm pulling the trigger first thing tomorrow morning. Edit: Trigger pulled on performance model.
I remember watching a certain Shakey Burn and some others testing a bunch of sports tourers, including a Blackbird, on a fast bikes(?) video. He rode that Suzuki like he was on fire!
Hayabusa is still a massive bike. Good for straight line speed but the GT will be much easier and faster riding it in the twisties. I think the GT has better ergos than the Busa also.
I looked em both over. I rode em both. I ended up with the GT. The busa is amazing, but this one honestly is every bit as good in different ways. Amazing wind protection for me and im 6'5". Price is better. Its more of a sport bike when fully engaged in twisties. The ride is smoother and actually downright easy to manage in heavy traffic. Yea, ill own a busa one day, but this time around i settled on a GSXS1000gt+ in red and i LOVE it. Suzuki knocked it out of the park on this one.
Noting a flash and maybe a decat can't fix. Easy extra 20HP. These modern bike come so neutered from the factory nowadays thanks to Euro5. My 23 XR is completely different bike with a flash and header decat.
128bhp at the wheel on 89RON fuel...they run very lean standard, need to de-cat them, filter and a flash...Why the GSX-S950 is a bargain, it cost the exact same to uncork!
@williamrae9954 I'd imagine a good tuner would do wonders once you installed a good exhaust and a high flowing BMC air filter. It's irritating that Suzuki would mess with that motor too much from its original k5 variation. I understand the emissions shit but that motor in its original form was reliable, had plenty of torque throughout the rev range, and all the horsepower anyone would need on a bike. If anything they should have used the same configuration that's in the current GSX-S1000.
Nice review. This seems like a nice bike for the budget conscious, but doesn't appear to compare well with the upper Euro brands, specifically the BMW S1000XR or the Ducati Mulltistrada (V2 or V4), which come with more power, more features, better handling, etc.
@@TonyChettleburgh Not really. The S1000RR is in the middle of the pack pricewise - less than the R1 M and CBR RR R. Of course, everything Ducati costs more, way more.
@@ljondova currently own an MT10, since Yamaha doesn't have an MT10Fazer yet, I am looking into both the GT and the SX. Thanks for your submission, I would try to test ride the GT.
@@kaecy6 in the end, maybe you have a different taste 🤔 (Kawasaki 1000sx is excellent motorcycle anyway) but for me Suzuki gsx s1000gt is better, = more horse power, excellent maybe the best quick shifter, exceptional stock seat comfort (even for a pillion), bullet proof engine ... etc ...
