Suzuki SCX harmonica: my experiences

Thanks for the wonderful work you are doing selflessly Sir. We appreciate your reviews. I recently became a Harmonica Fanatic due to it’s beautiful sound and portability. I started with Tower as trial, then Easttop Forerunner, then Suzuki scx48 in A, D and G. Unfortunately some holes in each were out of tune so had to order reed plates as no one wanted to repair. Then later wanted to try Seydel which I bought in B and Bb. Now also have Hohner 270 as it can be switched to C#. I like the Seydel Deluxe but square hole is not that comfortable and rounded is easier. I love the Easttop as it’s problem free and can be picked up and played anytime. Just requires more effort than one with wind savers. Suzuki’s are nice but some holes can sound off. Maybe it will grow on me.

Very useful..most comfortable 12hole/16hole harmonicas for those used to 24hole songstar.

I think round shape mouth piece is important. In suzuki songstar, its flat mouth piece scratches the lip while used for long duration.

Better get Suzuki Sirius, although much pricier, worth the cost as it sounded fuller better made than this SCX. I just got one Sirius 64.

I purchased this SCX64, HARMONICA, BUT it's 2, 5 and 7 number holes are not properly sounding , I thought there is a defect in it, but the manufacturer told that the technique to play this harmonica is different, because it's professional, so can you please tell me how to blow the above-mentioned holes.

Thanks for valuable information. I play hohner 270, no doubt its sound is very good. But in hohner I noticed that some time its reed change the tone particularly in severe cold season. It has a thin plastic strips over its reed. I think this strip cause the problem. It happens for few minutes or hours. What is ur opinion.

Thanks for your beautiful demonstration on specifications etc. Sir, I do have some queries on SCX model as follows: 1. It's a cross slider design model. I have been playing Seydel Chromatic since a long time and it's straight slider design. Hence, I don't have any idea on cross slider design chromatic. Can you please let me know, if there are any differences of playing style between cross and straight slider design? 2. So far I know, SCX models are available in Phosphor Bronze reed plates. Does it mean reeds and reed plates both are made of Phosphor Bronze or only the reed plates not the reeds? What are the advantages if it's made of Phosphor Bronze? 3. I am a left handed player. Does there is any option that Suzuki will configure the slider button in lower note side of the instrument instead of it's regular general position?

Dr saab, I have the same harmonica .. Lower octaves need harder blow and few notes in middle octave produce pop up sound .. Though cleaned as described in one of your vedio.. How do u compare with Honer 280C 16 holes
