As a Suzuki driver for about 2 years (with a Swift, but having experience with the S-Cross), I find these cars honest, practical and good value for money. They don't offer great design and luxury, but they do the job well and they don't break easily. Their service and repair are also reasonable. I've had experience with other well-known European and Japanese brands and I think that Suzuki is quite fine and much cheaper. And better than other "cheap" brands like Dacia and... Dacia.
and what is luxury, we just add premium word in the front and everyone thinks that is superior. The people around the world, better buy used "luxury" cars then new "on the budget" car. The main problem is in the mindset. Because of that kind of people, the cars nowadays cost as flat with three bedroom (before crisis) that is insane. Like everything in life, people should buy car because of practicality, not because of brand or what will neighbor say.
Ended up with a mild hybrid vitara. I'd say it's pretty engaging to drive for what it is. Nowhere near my old volvo but then again. It uses half the fuel that my volvo does.
The Suzuki S-Cross isn’t gonna be sold in the United States or Canada. But they could be sold in Mexico, cos Suzuki still sells vehicles in Mexico. Edit: the S-Cross is now on sale in Mexico.
I went for window-shopping, then Suzuki salesperson tempted me with a spin, why not? I really wasn't prepared for the refinement in 30-mile zone, very impressed. The dampers, wow, is it because it's new I wonder, or my old car is too old? But I'm pretty sure that it's new so the brake is very grabby, but I got used to it quickly. Start-stop is a tad slower than I like. What's getting me the most is the low-down roar, very boomy, though when the speed picks up, it faded - I don't think I'll get used to that. However, though slow, the single-clutch auto box is smoother than my double-clutch renault box - THAT is surprising. Lane-keeping is an intriguing experience, like your instructor returned from 5 years ago and decided you needed help, so I switched it off with a flip on the steering wheel. Pound-for-pound, this is a hybrid of good value (but maybe not good fuel economy). If I went for this, I definitely go for top trim - full fat Suzuki tech and massive glass roof.
Basic model, front drive, manual gearbox is 21000 euro. You cant buy better for that money. All the little silly complains goes to trash then. Ofcourse Toyota cross is better but 10000 euro more so...Mazda has its own troubles, and again, for much more cash...
The previous versions ass was a complete copy of the last generation Quasqui - now it’s ass looks like a copy of the VW T cross. As an average car for average people this isn’t a bad thing at all.
The best advantage of this car is the weight. From 1200 to 1300 kg. So it has a good performance (because of the low weight) and can have a very low consumption (with manual gearing naturally). The pricing is, I would say, a bit too high. Should be lower.
HI all purchased a brand new model last week October 2023 and early days but will keep you all updated and in passing I am sort of out in the country Co Antrim N.Ireland.
I am considering this car as we have a 6 year old Vitara and a 2 year old Swift and those are brilliant. Cheap to buy, cheaper to run and service. But Marek, where do you get those prices bro? In Romania they are 10.000 euro cheaper....
prices of cars differ from market to market (and by market i mean country)...didn't you realise that by now ? Obivously cars in Germany will be more expensive than the same car in , lets say for example, Bulgaria. Its becasue in Germany the consumers have more buying power...thus more expensive products, apartments, services, etc...
Hahaha man, don't get this personally, but you're not a very good Spider Man 🤣🤣 On a more serious note, watching the last few reviews of Suzuki cars, it looks like they are stuck in a time-loop, 10 years into the past. I wonder how vastly different the Japanese Suzuki range looks like.
Well, I own s cross from 2018 and I fit on the second row comfortably under roof. But I dont have panoramic roof, maybe because of that you didn't have space above your head.
Good review as usual. Thanks. I have a 2023 1.4 Boosterjet Mild Hybrid and im very happy with it. 15,000 miles done so far, trouble-free. It's a fantastic engine and a comfortable ride. Yes, it's no Bond-girl, but the facelift has worked well and it feels well built. I much prefer it to my Jogger and 500x.
@@MarekDrivesENG They were sold in the United States but in miniscule numbers. Suzuki's downfall in the United States was when they started selling rebadged Daewoos.
Mitsubishi RVR/ASX is pretty much the same. Decade+ old platform with mild facelifts to keep it fresh. I'm not complaining though, old tech is usually more reliable.
@@quintendeceulaer5988 that's a pretty good figure for such an engine and gearbox. Probably as good as it gets so cudos to you and to suzuki engineers 😁
@@quintendeceulaer5988I have the same one from the same year. The fuel efficiency is amazing for a quick-enough car. I don't understand how the hybrid system made it worse...
Marek you probably made a mistake in pricing. Fully equipped AWD car with everything, plus extra color (600€) is going for around 26700€ in Slovakia. As per today's 10th of July 2022 price list.
I use German prices in my English reviews, and for some reason the Suzuki is absurdly expensive over there. In Poland the car as tested comes out at about 29k.
@@MarekDrivesENG I don't know why, but it is. I looked to import Vitara from France or Germany. For 3-5 years old car it's usually cheaper to import, but Vitara is more expensive even before import tax.
Your Spiderman reference would have sold if you had shot a web and disappeared straight up. My god this car is dull. And the colour tops the dullness factor. But thanks for the fun video Marek. I missed the last video. Time to watch that! I arranged an EV6 AWD test drive in a couple weeks.
I spoke to the PR guy about it. Apparently it's a battle between the PR and marketing, who's going to configure the car. PR wants cool colors, and marketing wants something that's going to be easy to sell afterwards. Grey is inoffensive, they say.
@@MarekDrivesENG I think in this case a brighter colour would just accentuate how boring the design is. I did see a new Audi Q3 in turbo blue and that looked great! And the Q5 in Quantum Grey. It's a darker greenish grey non metallic colour. It shows even grey can be interesting.
Very weird comment that the previus generation's front looks like "a pig with a muzzle". On the contrary, the previous generation had a very nice front design - by far superior to the new generation. Furthermore - why do you call it "snow lock mode"? Is that your own invention? According to the driver's manual it's simply called "lock mode" (also stated on the knob).
I have been watching Scrossmyoutube video for quite sone this and this one is the most efficient, informative and driver&buyer friendly coverage. Congrats
Drivers heated seats go faulty ,six speed manual’s gearbox is crap in first and second, drivers seat split twice slight hesitation around forty miles per hour, rear brakes needed modification .
the 1.5 engine full hybrid u get, if u want automatic transmission, is very disappointing, very slow and u cant get ur cabin warm because the engine never warms up enough during city rides.
