I saw an 04 GSXR 600 on ebay once with around 230,000 miles lol. Apparently a previous owner rode a great distance everyday for like 5 years or something. Not sure if it was legit but I do remember that's what the milometer said

Here in Greece, it’s very common to see a motorcycle with more than 150,000km. I own a GSXR 1000 k5 which I bought new and it has 170,000 km at the moment. I change the oil every 2,000km and use only the best. I have never open the engine, except for the clutch and valve adjustment. I did a compression test at 150,000 km and it was within the limits

I had a TL1000R as my first bike. Yes, seriously!! This video bought back some great memories!! It was a crazy but great time - I rode a Honda 125 and 400 for my test and then two weeks after, won a TLR in a magazine competition with custom Suzuki race paint, Remus race cans, insurance and spare tyres. I did intermediate and advanced riding courses, to up my skillset and loved riding that bike. The torque and engine note were fantastic and as you saw, it would Wheely without much effort. I know some people complain about the weight and rear suspension but as I had no experience at that time, I just rode it like that was the way things were meant to be and I didn't hang about: When asked by a fellow instructor how I was getting on, my advanced instructor said "pretty #@&ing good - I was struggling to keep up with him at times". I don't know, I just gelled with that bike. I met a fellow TLR rider (Chris) at a local meet and we would ride out early on a Sunday morning - the sound of two V-twins blasting through the english countryside must have woken quite a few people (sorry). God I miss those days, my first bike and (as I've now had to give up due to poor health), being a biker!! Anyway, great memories and a great video - thank you 👍👍

I had just over a 100k on my CBR 600F4. I’m a firm believer if regular oil changes and maintenance is done these bikes can obtain high mileage with ease. Now granted if they are beat on or raced every mile of there life I wouldn’t expect to see that many miles. Those now classic sport bikes were always my favorite in the looks department! Awesome video and thanks for sharing.

The TL1000R or Torque monsters I just recently sold mine but had a blast riding it's funny a lot of people don't even know what the TL1000R is and always think it's a Busa but the TL1000R was a track killer and so was he RC51 as well those two bikes competed head-to-head constantly it's really looking for that TL1000R have the RC51 on torque and corners but the suspension and brakes on the TL1000R workana crappie and the RC51 had really good suspension and brakes so each its own really but yeah the TL1000R is a beast good video man🏍🤙

I had the TL1000s that I bought new in 1997 in the U.K . It was a brute and I loved it . Yes it needed a steering damper and the rear shock had way too much compression damping out of the box but with some time spent setting the rotary damper up correctly and dropping the forks 10mm she was a joy to ride . 👍
@elmoomle4565
@elmoomle4565 4 года назад
Pretty much anything will last 'a long time' IF it receives conscientious maintenance. In my experience, Suzuki and Kawasaki engines are, generally, 'overbuilt' and will usually fare better in the long term than Yamaha/Honda models as these are, generally, already at their 'peak' performance from the factory. (Why you almost never see Yam/Honda drag bikes vs. all the extreme high HP Suz/Kaw drag bikes...) Nice to see this lovely example of the iconic Suzuki TL v-twin!
@bradleyellis7336

Riding mile long wheelies is stupid number one. Second...you starve the motor for oil when you wheelie more than just a bit. Tlr's and gsxrs are designed to road race not stunt.
@ianchapman8670

Loved my yellow TLR , 98 model. I had a shock conversion to lose the rotary damper and forks restrung by maxton to match their shock conversion. A pair of marvic magnesium wheels made it a fabulous track bike but ruined its two up ability. Wish I’d kept it for a full time track bike.

I must say they're a lil touchy if you're new to them but overall a great bike, but definitely not for beginners... She'll throw you off, or come up from under you if you don't handle her right... She makes you ride and respect her like any other bike, but if not like any pissed off woman she'll hurt you bad... Ride safe y'all... #TwoWheelsOneLove #BikeLife 🏍 ❤ 💯

I actually got one of these locked away now somewhere in my parents basement. I remember it had many many problems and I remember it wasnt a maintenance free machine. Not like my carbed sporster 883 anyway. So just to say credit to the owner that its that smooth and still in good shape. That bike otherwise is a monster. Its all about maintenance. But for the year and age its a very light bike very nimble but also spongy af compared to a CBR1000RR

The bike doesn't sound like it was flying but it was flying pretty good there. There how they got the nickname "widow maker". Riders were use to an in-line screaming, but the low torque and smooth pull of that motor got riders in trouble going from one corner to the next as they didn't realize how fast they were actually going. I love mine! It almost feels like a play bike when I go from my 1098s and jump on the TL. The 1098 is my solo bike and as the TL is "bigger" so to speak it works well to take my wife with me is far more comfortable for her.

It never was the darling of the motorcycle press (remember the R1 came out in 1998 as well) but those twin high pipes with that distinct sound turned me into a V-twin fanatic. @Desert Dawg i'd argue its the exact opposite, if it has miles and its clean, that means someone kept it running and it never sat. you can tell what's neglected if its being ridden, something can sit and rot in a clean garage. if it has miles and it looks great, someone loved it and has proven it's gonna last, given that everything is perfectly functional upon purchase.

That’s insane amount of mileage for a sports bike. I have only seen a 2002 GSXR 1000 with 65,000 miles. Honda tour bikes usual get over 100,000 miles. Love the vid.

Over 150,000 miles...dam!! 😳 I’m about to buy one with just 21,000. looks like I’ve got the bike for life lol. I know the engine is strong but didn’t imagine seeing one with that many miles.

I learnt to wheelie on a TL1000s. Actually the bike would wheelie by itself and I'd just hang on and pretend I to be in control.

I've known some motorbikes to do 700,000 miles. These were bikes ridden by despatch riders in London and were CBR1100s and VFR800s. I bet if you stripped that big V-twin, you would still beable to see the honing marks.

Trying to wheelie as if a four cylinder! Got the revs to high! Willing to bet 2nd gear low revs and give it to it no clutch needed and it would stand right up with some body positioning

Nice vid. Always liked this bike. Very nearly bought one in 2003 but ended up getting a new SV1000S as got a great deal. Desperate for Suzuki to make another SV or TLS type big V-Twin but chances are practically zero unfortunately.

Old BMW K-bikes (Flying Brick) seems to run forever, 200.000 km is quite common. A Beemer K1 has 525.000 km on the same engine and never been rebuilt

Get a traditional shock conversion and some magnesium wheels . It will transform it.

Fit a 190/55 rear tyre rather than the stock 190/50 and drop the forks 5mm down the yokes. Dump the oem steering damper and fit an adjustable one. Transforms it completely without any big spending.

I wonder if the owner had any cam bearing issues over that 150,000 miles and he had to get them sorted. I've heard some say they can go after just 15,000 miles. I'm on around 25,000 miles and no rattles as far. The cost of getting those done is daylight robbery.
