Suzuki Vitara S Review - Car Obsession 

Nodge X I would avoid any of those so called fashionable SUV type cars from VW etc. Overpriced and not reliable enough. JD customer surveys prove this. Suzuki are one of the best for reliability. They are built to last. Id sooner have hard plastics any day instead of soft touch crap. Cars are becoming all about style over substance but fortunately, Suzuki are continuing to produce good solid reliable long lasting cars.

Yes, from what I've heard, this is something Suzuki has done a few times. It'll be interesting to see what the new Swift Sport does. I'll be testing one later this year, both on road and on track - can't wait!!!!

Car Obsession, I'm really excited for the new Swift Sport! I've seen guesstimates at 7.5 seconds, which is nearly a second quicker than the old model. It will be a great car, especially with all the kit it packs in. I reckon it won't cost much more than the VW Up! GTi.

Well Suzuki has stated it will be under 7 seconds, which seems optimistic given the fact it won't have lots of power, but we will see. Either way though, I'm sure it will be a complete hoot to drive!

Its normal for Suzuki to put very modest figures on top speed and 0-62.. On my SCross 1.6d it says 13.5 sec to 100 and 175 km. In reality is round 11s and over 190 top speed and car feels much more quicker than it looks on paper. Same thing was on my SX4 before and 05 Swift but with little less difference..This Vitara is round 8.5 sec to 62, i saw that somwhere.. That 1.4 is gem of an engine without turbo lag and mpg is great. It would be my choice if i was driving less millage every day on highways where is diesel at its best..

Car Obsession, to be fair it does sound pretty decent when extended.

Sport mode garauntees twenty per cent drive to the rear wheels which gives it a better handling characteristic.

Actually it does. If you dig really deep into the technical description of the 4-wheel drive system, it changes the mapping of the engine when in sport mode, much like a chip-tuning does. It will actually react and sound sportier than in normal mode.

No, thankfully the parcel shelf doesn't rattle in this model like it did in the S-Cross.
