One more vote for interest in the rear top rack and side pannier racks. Looking forward to seeing updates on your RU-vid or Facebook channels. Cheers from the USA.
Mate what a fantastic and informative video. I've ridden around the world on my very modified BMW 650 Rallye. I'm now in New Zealand and just bought a brand new Svartpilen 401 as they are SO cheap here, $4500 USD. I'm planning on doing all these same mods as you and a 19 inch front wheel. I would love to ride with the kit you are going to make as you know what you are on about and there is literally nothing available here in NZ even from Husqvarna for the Svartpilen. If it pans out I'll then be starting a small bike ADV tour company using the Svartpillen as agin they are so cheap and so much fun
Thanks for the feedback! I wish they were that cheap here, we have a decent import tax on things here. I will for sure be getting the rack into people's hands!
@@foureyeddaruma you are more than welcome. Yeah they were $8200 USD here but sold less than 4 a year across the whole country, yes just 4. So around 3 years ago they massively dropped the price to below cost which is crazy especially considering we get the full EU bike. I'll be taking my one to absolutely crazy places and thrashing the hell out of it...... let's see how good the warranty is 😂 But yeah I have subscribed and cant wait to see what you do with this bike and your upcoming products. P.s would love the exhaust you have, it's so much better routed the older way through the frame. With I could buy one
Hi, the svart is a little beast. I have crossed the Peruvian Andes couple of times (on and off road); from Lima which is at sea level reaching almost 6,000 masl at couple of mountain passes. Its a lovely machine.
I feel like the softer suspension might be because us Americans like our fast food and were generally a bigger in general so you would need less but that's just a guess
Asian version: the turn signals does not work, like to stray onto other vehicles lane without warning, stays on a fast lane doing 5 miles an hour and takes 10 minutes to take off from a green light :D
Yes! I really like the bag designs they have but the rack has similar weak points to the one I have, the rear subframe needs more support if you want to mount to. I spoke with the guy who runs Givi here in Vietnam. Going over the fact that I need to also have one more mount point like the rear peg which is what we plan to do.
@@papersplease Yeah, I just need something that will last for months at a time with constant load. I hope next week or the week after we will start work on our version for this. Price as well, price point seems to be super high.
I want to upgrade my duke 390 suspension. I bought it it Mexico and I wonder if it has the lower grade suspension. I guess I'll check for those holes in the fork, thanks for that tip.
If it has the adjustment from WP itself your good. Its just a visible conformation on top of the forks, 1 should have a white dial, the other one a red one.
Hi I also live in Vietnam and I also have a Svartpilen. And I'm actually interested in some of the parts you have shown in this vid. I would be very much interested to get info about where or who made you the exhaust. And if you aim do produce a series of the custom rack, I may be a buyer. I live in HCMC - Cheers
I am going to buy the Svartipilen 401 (i will have it in a couple of weeks)....i happen to love in Vietnam too... Actually the very same building you are living in hahaha I saw your bike parked I think! How can I find you, I'd love to pick your brain!
@@beansvangogh Heat is fine to me, I took it out recently in the jungle here and it did great! The color changed a bit as it got a bit more closer to the muffler but nothing other than that. I am really happy with the change for sure! The protection film on the other hand didn't like the jungle and leg rub heat, it died fast that was a waist.
