Hello man; I have a question if I may; how do you prevent the bags to go to the wheel or some movement there? What did you do with the stock license plate holder wiring? I mean; where did you connected it to put the new holder? Thanks
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors 3 года назад
The way the straps are tied to the frame, they prevent the bags from swinging in. As for the license plate wiring, I ran back up under the seat and out the tail.

Subscribed, really cool videos and exactly what I wanted to see...one question, how's it for a long ride? the sit and vibration?
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors 4 года назад
The seat is a little on the not-so-soft side, but I wouldn't call it a dealbreaker at all. It's comfy enough. Besides with only 2.5 gallons of gas you have to take a break and fill the tank anyway. There is NO bad vibration from it being a thumper. It's as as smooth as butter.

What's the setup for the bags ? I'm really keen on that. Awesome video
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors 4 года назад
Thank you, Danny. There is a link to the bags in the description. Essentially, you use the lower compression strap to secure the bag to the frame, which also acts to keep the bags from rubbing against the tire. Unexpectedly worked great and I did not have to come up with rack hack to keep them off the tire. Waterproof VUZ saddlebags that will fit just about any bike: amzn.to/3ehTcbV

30th sub! Keep the husky vids coming. I’m surprised you don’t have a wind deflector. No need for it? You got a lot of gear on that bike!
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors 4 года назад
Woo hoo! Thanks, Zac! There is a little tiny windshield designed for it. Not sure how much good it will do or whether I want to change the bike's aesthetics, somewhat permanently, that much. Doesn't seem like the kind of gear you you put on or take off depending on the ride that day. Might have to do some research on if it makes a noticeable difference on the highway.

Yes. A $10 USB device that plugs into the battery charging wire. Can't remember what that wire tip thing is called...

How does this bike feel at freeway speeds?
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors 4 года назад
There's some wind in your hair, that's for sure. It's a naked bike with no sort of windshield or faring, and it's light so wind can push you a bit more than a heavy bike. I wouldn't want to ride at 70MPH+ all day long trying to keep up with freeway traffic, but by yourself out on the open road, well, there's hardly ever a moment a cop wouldn't have the right to give me a ticket.

@@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors Thanks for the reply. I just bought one this weekend as my first ever motorcycle, and I eventually want to commute to work with it, but I don't know if I want to spend much time on I-5 lol
@hvhvgitaar
@hvhvgitaar 4 года назад
Cool. How are you finding the ergonomics of the bike (seat position etc) on long rides?
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors 4 года назад
The seat position is fine. Its lack of softness isn’t noticeable for several hours. On long rides i definitely took advantage of the long seat and slid way back occasionally to change things up. They foot pegs put the knees a little tighter than 90 degrees, but nothing like a sport bike. I got low enough in one curve on the 39 that my foot rubbed the ground (in my new video, though I didn’t mention that). I rode mostly early 80s Honda CB bikes before. This is not laid-back cruiser style or hunched over sport bike. It’s an alert, ready for anything position somewhere in the middle. I was comfortable the whole time and will definitely ride longer. Planning a trip into Mexico once the border opens.

im thinking about getting this for my first bike, how is it on the highway? would you want to go long distances on it? thanks
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors 3 года назад
You can certainly go long distances, but it's a naked bike and fairly light so the wind is definitely in your face. I rode 5 hours up the coast a couple weeks ago and 4 hours across LA and through the mountains and back last weekend. It comfy up to about 70 MPH then you get beat up a little close to 80, but she'll go past 100 allegedley

@@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors wow 👏🏼🔥 think I'm going to get this bike finally, looking at which is better the 2021 or 2022. What camera and set up were you using to film yourself here if you don't mind me asking?
@cab1024
@cab1024 2 года назад
@@SemajSemaj You won't regret it! I'm usiong a DJI Osmo Action camera and either a microphone in my helmet running to an iPhone and using the MOTIV app by Shure or a small digital audio recorder. The auto recording levels connecting a microphone directly to the camera is really terrible and the adapters suck too. I recently bought a second one to give it another try after returning the first one and switching to the iPhone, and it won't even power the camera via the USB splitter. I hate the the way GoPros create file names and organize the files and returned my first one of those. I lost the DJI in Alaska and got another one. It's pretty sweet except for the audio. But you can record separately and sync it.

Do you carry additional fuel? Like a rotopax or similar?
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors 4 года назад
Not yet, but planning to. I'd say the 2.5 gallon fuel tank is the ONLY drawback whatsoever to this bike. Even so, it just means more planning for stops, not so much the likelihood of running out of gas. When I ride her hard, she gets maybe 54 MPG, but when touring it was over 60 MPG. I start planning for a gas stop when I get over 100 miles. But yes, I'm planning to put a 1-liter Sigg bottle in each saddlebag at some point, unless I find something that looks cool!

Check out both Rotopax and Giant Loop. Rotopax makes a 1.25 gal. Hard fuel tank, and Giant loop makes a 1 gal. Bladder type. Both look well made

@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors 4 года назад
@@davemarquez7744 You'll be more than fine, and from what I've read it will not feel too small for you either. I'm 5'8 with more like a 28" inseam. I cannot flat-foot it, but it's completely natural coming to a stop when riding. Not sure about off road though... It would be nice to be taller in rougher terrain, but that's no fault of the bike!

Hello my friend, do you think I can make a ride of 2000 km with this motorcycle?
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors
@ChuckBaldwinOutdoors 3 года назад
Sure, if you can find the right gear. The gas tank is small so you need to stop every 90 miles or so to make sure you don't get stranded between gas stations. But it's comfortable enough.
