Optical plastic does Not only require, Anti -reflective coating but also has Lower Abbe value than most Optical glasses ( due to Lower Refractive index). The only Cons of Optical plastic is that, they are Not Scratch resistant hence need to be, Handled and cleaned with Care 👍🙂..
I got my first telescope a few months ago and your videos have been very helpful. I bought the 23 and the 10, the 23 is my favorite eyepiece at the moment.
interesting! i've got the 4mm and while it is a bit dark, which is expected, it's not bad for the price. EDIT: I went back and watched your "pros and cons" video, and mine seems to be a bit different than the one you got. Mine has a tiny opening for your eyes and doesn't seem to have the barlow type of piece up inside it, it also seems shorter.
Hello Disciple of Christ. Having used the 4mm a lot more since filming this video, I have to agree with you, they are not bad for the money...I've used worse...Strange that your 4mm is different to mine, got to be honest I've not come across that before, maybe they have just change them a little. I wouldn't worry as long as it is a genuine SVBony product I'm sure it's fine, brands often change the design of products a little from time to time. :)
I never knew what was inside an eyepiece , but now i know what is inside it.I use three eyepiece 20mm,12.5mm and a 4mm one but the 4mm one i can only use when atmosphere is stable or else the image gets distorted
Hi Guptazzz, yes, the atmosphere has to be pretty stable to get the 4mm out, it's very rare I use anything under 10mm. In my opinion a 12.5mm is a good all-rounder. pity svbony don't do that size in the aspheric range.
"I never thought I'd say nipple on the internet" haha, it was like a nipple though wasn't it :D I guess you could describe it as flying saucer shaped but that wouldn't have been as much fun :)
I spent a little more for the Svbony RED band with a metal case and 5 glass lenses. They're much bigger and it's heavier. Part of what you're paying is shipping and boxing, so why not buy their red band and have a heavy comfy eyepieces?
These eyepieces are fine for an entry-level user, but if you're a more advanced user, you'll need better ones. Personally I don't like them because even if you are new to the hobby you can see a lot of difference between them and a good quality plossl, which is also not expensive, try a test with a bright star using a Plossl eyepiece and you will see how bad the Aspherics are.
Witam !
