In Swedish, Hjälpverb are very common!
They are what is called auxiliary verbs, and they are an important part of Swedish grammar.
But how do you use them?
You always combine a Hjälpverb (auxiliary verb) with the infinitive form of a huvudverb (main verb).
Understanding Hjälpverb is very imporant to complete SFI or to simply speak Swedish with correct grammar in everyday life.
Some common Swedish auxiliary verbs (Hjälpverb) are: får, vill, behöver and kan.
But there are many more. Should we make a part 2?

I just love the details of your videos. No pictures are randomly selected 🤣 I hope to learn some swedish. I have a lot of interest in Sweden and their people. The pronunciation melody gets me like 😳 sometimes, but it is ok. Greetings from Brazil! Tack!😊🙏🏼

Thank you! 😃 About the melody... it has partially something to do with compund words 😊. Which are really 2 or more words put together. And there is stress in all of them. We have a video about it somewhere in the channel 😁. Hope it helps!

You're definitely right about få. It's the most confusing Auxiliary verb by far. Maybe even the most confusing word in the entire Swedish language. It seems to mean just about everything and nothing.

Thank you, your explanations and examples are really well chosen, and the Will section made me grin 😁. I think it could be cool if you can leave the Swedish sentence onscreen when you put the English translation as often it would vanish too quickly for me to take in! Tack så mycket for your amazing work 😎

Love your content but I am curious why Swedish doesn’t use the infinitive article much, and in what circumstances DO you use it? In languages like German, the infinitive article “zu” is used only when the helper verb is not modal. For example, “wir können reisen (we can travel)” vs “wir planen zu reisen (we plan to travel)”. If you noticed, the same system is happening to the English translations there. Is it not the same for Swedish? If not, what exactly are the rules for “att”?

In real spoken Swedish the "att" you are talking about is "å" and this is ancient and a different word than the "att" as in "ja säger ATT du har fel.

Thanks, that's really helped me understand få. I think it's like in english- I got (received) a present, I got to (was allowed to/ had the opportunity to) choose a present, I've got to (have to/ must) buy a present, for example.
