KLANGEN AV LYSET

Verket er en blanding av kosmisk lyd fra nordlys, salmen til Olsok-messa fra 1100-tallet og instrumentale og vokale lydkulisser. Lydopptakene av nordlys er utført av professor emeritus Alv Egeland, kjent for sin forskning på nordlys. Opptakene er gjort i raketter og satellitter, sendt opp fra Svalbard og fra Andøya.
Verket ble urfremført i Kvinesdal kulturhus 17.mai 2022 i forbindelse med feiringen av Kvinesdal-1000 år som kirkested. Videoen som følger, er et utsnitt. Støttet av Komponistenes vederlagsfond.
THE SOUND OF THE LIGHT

The work is a mixture of cosmic sound from the Northern Lights, the hymn to the Olsok Mass from the 12th century and instrumental and vocal soundscapes. The sound recordings of the Northern Lights were made by Professor Emeritus Alv Egeland, known for his research on the Northern Lights. The recordings were made in rockets and satellites, sent up from Svalbard and from Andøya.
The work was premiered on 17 May 2022 in connection with the celebration of Kvinesdal-1000 years as a church site. The video that follows is an excerpt. Supported by The Composers’ Remuneration Fund.
