Episode 112: Twisted Metal (PS3) Twisted Metal is a vehicle combat video game developed by Eat Sleep Play and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3. It is a reboot of the Twisted Metal franchise.
When this game first came out, and there were a ton of people online, I will say, that was easily the most fun I've EVER had playing any game online, the free for all and team death matches were so chaotic and fun, this game was my drug back in 2012, I played it everyday, sad that no one really plays it anymore, playing against the bots is fun and all, but nothing beats that online experience.
The online was near perfect but this sadly came out during the call of duty era. To start an online match in Twisted Metal you had to be able to read when it says to push start. I have met many idiot hosts that didn't see the message so we would wait in full lobbies and everyone would leave. They updated it to start automatically but it it was sadly too complicated for people expecting it to automatically start.
If Sony does release Twisted Metal on PlayStation 4, I bet we might get characters from Twisted Metal 1 and Twisted Metal 2 except replace grasshopper with pit viper.
This is probably the last TM we'll see. I think this kind of game is not appealing to modern audiences, even to people who played and liked the originals games. It's sad, because i really like the TM series
You have the right Sebastian. I grow up playing this series from the first to this, I bought it immediately came in 2012 :) People today don't play games like this besides it also others are waiting for David Jaffe and his team to make another TM.
Well yeah because it went to complete shit after TM2. The only good ones after 2 were Small Brawl and Head On. 3, 4, Black, and the PS3 version sucked ass. Yeah I said it. TM Black was complete ass
@@Johnnyboy414 black gameplay sucksss they focus too much on story and sorrg i lovvve tm 2 but tm 3 had wayyyyyyy better car controls tho the endings were horrrrrrible for tm3 tm 4 was decent all new characters loved that idea n new drivers same story n still had sweet tooth and calypso so still was twisted not competely diff ps3 was only fun for online story was lazzy they didnt try very hard at all
@@Johnnyboy414 the live action cutscenes in ps3 verion and having paid actors is why they did not have individual characters for cars that was not a good idea to me
You mentioned they never did an Amusement Park theme level in Twisted Metal. They actually did in Twisted Metal 4. The last level where you face Sweet Tooth.
This installment had the best graphics and controls of the franchise. The difficulty level was appropriate. I had mixed feelings about the objectives. When I choose to play Twisted Metal, that means I’m in the mood to play a last-driver-standing mode-not racing. And yet, the racing was good.
The canyon race was fun,the second one was meh, but that last one in Diesel City I think? Yeah that one was bullshit hopping through buildings and shit so stupid. That last race made me put the story mode down for a while. When the game first came out idk how I beat the game on twisted difficulty to unlock the special ending. Guess just younger and worked less so I was more willing to dedicate that time to a video game.
I've never played a twisted metal game. Haven't even been in the same room as someone playing it. I have no idea why it seemed to be so unavailable and rare over here but it seems like we definitely missed out on a fun franchise.
Aaaand.. Today, we have no TwistedMetal for ps4 (but a playable Sweetooth in RocketLeague). the fact that 3 DLC for TM ps3, was ready and fully rendered for the game was never released and we only got final concept art and showcasing it's final 3D model. I just realized how sony gives no dammn shame guilt to the series today. 💔 On the other hand, I love how this youtuber keeps giving highlight to the MAGIC of TM in TM1, 2, Smallbrawl, Headon. You really captured The TwistedMetal fantasy world bud, I enjoyed your tm videos, appreciate your talks and opinions.. ☺ Hope to see another vid from u, if ever a new one come out!
You seriously like this game? You do realise the brake button does not work, the difficulty being outright impossible (ESPECIALLY FOR EVERY SINGLE TROPHY), and the fact that, in order to play online, you are forced to purchase an online pass before you do anything at ALL?! If you ask me, Head On is the superior game because at least in that one you wete able to use cheat codes to see all the character's different stories. Not to mention that this game only has 3 playable characters, there is no Krista Sparks anywhere, and Dollface claims to be Krista in disguise, right?
I've been waiting for this review review ever since I found this channel. I love it and am glad it's finally here. My only gripe with this game is the lack of characters. I really enjoyed the stories told, but I was just left wanting more. I really wish they had at least done a story for the preacher, but I guess budget and time were probably an issue. Btw did you see the secret ending? That makes me wonder if they were at least planning on a sequel.
Um Jammer Chelle I didn't get a chance to complete the story mode, but I'm still currently playing the game. The lack of characters is a bit of a letdown... the characters are part of what made Twisted Metal, not just the vehicles. All in all I was pretty surprised at how good the game turned out.
I agree. with other comments, if you anncounce what your playing and give your fans enough time to buy the games that still have online capability, im sure you can play with them.
I never played this game. The original 2 I played the hell out of, but what I never got with the games were it was supposed to be a free for all, then the AI doesn't attack each other at all and gang up on you.
Trust me it's better that way.TM3 the bots fight and kill eachother.if you keep your distance long enough you'll only have to fight the last character. I think a good solution would be let the bots fight each other, but make it so they dont kill or damage each other. That way not everyone is on your ass the whole time, but you still have to kill every opponent.
neo swim Wow that's a tough one... I'd probably say: 1. Paris (TM2) 2. Thrills and Spills (TM2012) 3. Los Angeles (TM2) 4. Metro Square (TM2012) 5. Rooftops (TM1995)
Very nice choice, I haven't played TM 2012 but I own the rest so I'd have to say my Top 5 would be 1.Hong Kong (TM 2) 2. Rooftop Combat (TM1) 3. Prison Passage / Abandond Rooftops (TMB) - cheating but I really cant decide 4. The Bedroom (TM4) 5. Transylvania (TMHO)
neo swim I was a huge fan of the Hong Kong level in TM2, probably my #6 spot. My favorite vehicles would probably be: 1. Twister (TM2) 2. Thumper (TM1995) 3. Sweet Tooth (TM1995/TM2) 4. Hammerhead (TM1995) 5. Shadow (TM2012)
Hong Kong just hasn't been topped for me in a TM game. It's really interesting to see your favorites it surprised me a bit. Sorry for wasting future video concepts on a conversation with a sub but I really appreciate the effort you put into connecting with your fan base. My favorite vehicles short of 2012 would be 1. Mr. Grim (TMSB/TMB) Tie 2. Dark Tooth (TM2) 3. Sweet Tooth (TM1/TM2) 4. Minion (TM1/TM2) 5. Axel (TM2/TMB) Tie
This game sucked. The original series was better because of all the story's of each character. You didn't get that in this game. The older ones were better
eh, i didnt like this one cause of the weird character thing. I played twisted metal only for the individual characters story. Its like mortal kombat with customizable ninjas... Nah, i want scorpion and subzero not generic yellow ninja with a spear .
The online didn't work well at launch (while the game-play was stable, the servers would rarely let you initially connect to a room). So the servers have always been barren. I was incredibly disappointed by this game. The weird part is the game-play is fantastic, but really only online, and as I said it never really worked. I hate the single-player game, i find it boring and the AI annoying and suicidal, with infinite ammo and special meter. But the online was REALLY fun, and hardly ever worked. :(
SleepyGuyy Damn, that's a shame! I remember issues in the past with the THQ servers for the Smackdown vs RAW games. Kind of ruined my experience, as I already don't play online much to begin with.
