One of my coworkers was really disappointed that Svelte added runes since it made this very simple way of writing components a tad more complicated. I told him that it has been done for a good reason and its very handy to have this in a video now. I kinda wish there was a easier to digest tl;dr; video that explains the cases why this is done thought.
