He has endured unspeakable pain in his life, from his past dealings with his father and losing his baby son, to recently, the deaths of his close friends, and his troubled divorce. I know he had problems in his past & using drugs was his choice, but the Kardashian's abandoned him, & hung him out to dry in front of the media making him seem like the bad guy in the divorce, & then to see your ex-wife(or legally still wife by law, cause idk the details of the divorce) name attached to being with all these different rappers, would be a lot for any man to handle. Very, VERY well said. Yes, Lamar Odom got into this horrible situation because he made some poor choices, but he's still a human being who's suffering. I hope he comes through this. I commend SVP for being unlike the other media outlets and stating the obvious while showing compassion and love for this troubled young man.
SVP (and Bun B) brought the pain. Odom is in a relatively tiny group of, not to put too fine a point on it, super-humans who can perform physical (and mental, let's not forget that part) feats which in the era of digital reproduction can too easily be taken for granted. He is an American sportsman. That is how he made his bones. It is one of a number of very difficult endeavors which we ought to take better stock of. If the man's life is on the line, based on a tragic mis-step in self medication, understandable given his painful personal history, the least we can do is describe his life's work accurately.
