This was brought out in the 70,s by Technics with their speaker line. They called it Phase Linear back then in reference to place of speakers in the cabinet. Nice
When did you make this channel? Dang, I was like wait, That sounds like Chris, and then I found out it was, nice. Thanks for the video, first I seen that wasn't just a short, awesome info man.
About time SVS introduced a newer flagship speaker. Two things I'd like to point at, speakers are missing outriggers, and the drivers should have screws that are not visible. Otherwise the speakers look great.
Time Alignment is a very fancy word for audio. I listened to Wilson speakers that are time aligned with individual drivers and you can adjust the driver's angle. It just didn't sound better than my speakers that don't have time alignment. Anyway, I use SVS Prime Pinnacle for my surround system and they sound nice.
Been saying this for years. I bought dual pb16 ultras when they were released. I’ve been patiently waiting for something I can upgrade too. Might have time switch to JTR if they don’t do something soon
Regarding that time alignment feature, what if you stand up and move around the room a bit? It seems like these are optimized for remaining in the ideal listening position.
Time alignment is also based on listening position, which includes height. I wonder what is the minimum and maximum height of the listener position. Will they offer diagrams of speaker rake angles for compensate for that?
I was thinking the same thing, these seemed to aimed to a specific target point sitting down. Will be interesting to see how these fair with people with taller seats such as a back row in a dedicated theater.
Nice Video! 1. Do you think that the SVS Ultra Evolution Pinnacle Speakers sounds better than some of the open baffle speaker you have heard? 2. What is the most expensive box speakers can the SVS Ultra Evolution Pinnacle Speakers can equal or beat in sound?
What is the price and can we mix the old Ultra speakers with the Evolution? How was the Demo? I have the Ultra Towers and need to know do the Evolutions sound vastly better? Thanks! The Old Man!🧑🏾🦲
Can't help wondering how far away from the back wall you have to place those with not only a rear ports, but with two rear woofers as well. That is not going to make for domestic harmony. :)
Why didn't they design their last line of speakers this way if its so good? Its not as if they didn't know this information I think ill wait for the ultra evolution pro plus MK 2 with the triple diamond coated tweeter double dipped in stardust ☺️
When you think about the speed of sound waves over such a short distance like a living room, a few centimeters in driver placement doesn't seem like it would make any perceptible difference. My biggest problem though, is that the best subwoofer position is almost never the same as the tower position due to nulls etc from different room acoustics. So having such amazing bass performance on a tower is not necessarily a positive for everyone.
A relative new study revealed that human hearing can discern left ear vs right ear arrival time differences in the range of 5 to 10 microseconds. When you think about it when you are in the middle of the woods and a tree branch snaps humans can spin around and know exactly what direction that sound came from especially if the sound of that snapping branch is relatively close. In fact, if you ever dabbled in vehicle audio, with speaker drivers positioned in various locations at different distances and you had experience trying to get cohesive sound, you would recognize the importance of .01 milliseconds of arrival time or better is necessary. That happens to be the highest accuracy resolution of DSP so far yet made to date. I’m my experience, I’ve found that I would rather have .005 milliseconds of adjustability. 😊
I think it's because they're just super easy to put anywhere with the convenient mount, pricey but I just dont know many other options that fit the bill.
@@zachliechti5476 my friend has on his measurements on other models , but can you tell me or show how I get the measurements and crossover types these models
The ultra evolution pinnacle has 4 eight inch woofers. They were the black ones in the demo room. The white ones were the Titans and had 4 6.5 inch woofers.
