The XHDATA 808 continues to amaze me with how well it performs for such a smaller and lower priced radio. I compare it in performance most often to my Tecsun 880!
I have these. Both are good radios. However, overall, I think the D808 is better. They are both very sensitive but I find the 310's AGC really fierce, with that strange pumping/rattling noise. The 808, while also being DSP powered, seems a lot more "mellow" audio-wise. Its MW is also very sensitive. After my venerable 2001D, which is rather awkward and fragile to tote around, it is my favourite radio. The next is the DE1103 (non dsp model), and the PL660. Thank you for your videos. They are much appreciated.
@@Valhallaaaa Hi. I still have the D808 and it remains my all over favorite portable. I sm lucky to have it. As well as the 808, i have the PL310et, 380, icf 2001D, 7600D, SW 55 and Panasonic RF B65D. The D808 is as good as any of these except the 2001D and the RF B65. The fact that it is relatively small, lightweight and can be charged with a standard mobile phone charger makes it great for taking on holiday. 73s
@@jimgordon1563 Thank you very much! :) I am diging some long term experiences info with this. Maybe it will be my first radio of this class so i wanna be sure it will be reliable. For today i was using only standard FM radios but it is many years hard to lisen stations there :D few crapy songs in circle... on Old radio SW i found some interesting contents other cultures song and so on.... Something i would never search and find... It gets me... So i started to search for something that Can handle this.
@@teunaydin Hi, thank you for your comment. I have just looked at your videos. They are very Interesting. I have just subscribed to your channel. Feel free to subscribe to mine if you want. I too am an admirer of the 2001D: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vX_ehwXlKLA.html I see that you are located in Istanbul. Mehmet Akin also lives there and has a very interesting RU-vid channel. 73s and GDX from Scotland
The PL310 would be a better match for the Radiwow, and this XHData should be compared to the Tecsun PL660, and C.Crane CCSkywave-SSB. But one must work with what one has. Though I don’t have the PL-310, I do have several Tecsun radios (Incl: PL-390 / PL-600/ R7900DX / R-233 / R-818 ) I also have the XHData D-808. A fantastic little radio. 📻🙂
