Thanks Chris for coming to Workbench - I didn’t get to too see much of what was on display as I was on the mic. The tournament ended up on the main screen to run the final which worked well, the guy with the customised 1000 is Carl . The guy with the custom built cases is Simonz Gosk who does metal work and welding. The event hadn’t been held for a few years as we stepped back to allow Ravi’s Kickstart to grow and this was amazing return for us a little bit more room. Regular meets will happen now in exeter, chipping sodbury and new one for wales. This was a not a record guest wise, we did 90 booking and some tables were booked as guests for some reason. Your table, well can I say “Commodore Next” was it? Thank you taking your time and making a video - very good
That IS a long way to travel to Chippy Soddy. Must say, very happy to have that monitor, if only it were the 2007fpb. Still, maybe this one is more suited to using with my Spectrum Next, which I THINK can drive it. Great screens!
No problem, I could hear your voice had left the building, so no need to torture is more. If you want to arrange a review with us, that would be cool :). I think I should be able to do a decent review of it, around mid November maybe, I have quite a wide range of systems, so I can put it through its paces. Let me know if you are interested.
I really don't understand what the A600 GS is for. Amigakit say the GS is for Games System, but there is already a perfectly good system that is cheaper with an interface that just lets you get straight into the games.
I prefer my Amigas to be connected to a 4x3 VGA monitor. I tend to use the Amiga A1200 that I installed the wonderful Indivision AGA Mk3 in that gives the most superb picture quality via the VGA input on my Hitachi model JM777 monitor.
I have the Mk2. The software for that was dreadful. While I managed to get a decent Workbench screen mode I was never able to get it to output smooth 50hz scrolling in games. I prefer the OSSC these days.
I have the Retrotink 5x which I plan to use to do screen captures. Sadly the digitizer is USB C only, and getting my current recording locations connected to a USB C computer is not practical. But I have a solution in the works which hopefully will happen soonish.
Ah, I feel I NEED to get an ST and walk the walk, see what it was like to use. Buuuut, as its kind of a lower tech Amiga, I find it hard to justify the space. Still, MUST be done at some point.
