Probably the best follow-up video would be "Dvaita, Advaita and Vishishtadvaita Vedanta EXPLAINED" on the channel Bhakthamrutham. Swami Paravastu Varadarajan explained those concepts there with much clarity. 🙏

Thank you so much for this reaction video! 🔥 I'm glad you are focusing on Sw. Sarvapriyananda's videos. He explains things fairly clearly. I don't mean to distract you from your focus on Sw. Sarvapriyananda, but Sw. Tadatmananda has a short video called "Advaita vs Bhakti" (non-duality vs. devotion). He very clearly explains Advaita, duality, and the 3 levels of reality. He gives examples. I'm on my 3rd viewing of that video... it has so many interesting concepts!

As a non-initiated person in knowledge of Vedas or Upanishads, the way I understand the Vedic concepts are through metaphors from real life and other subjects:- 1. Dualism (Dvaita):- Dualism represents Mind-Matter, Jiva-Jagat, Action-Reaction, Cause-Effect, Karma, Atma-Parmatma, Creator-Creation, Demand-Supply, Purity-Pollution. 2. non-Dualist (A-Dvaita) metaphors can be: a. Mono-ism:- Belief in a Singular (Brahman/One-God/Alpha), Monotheism, Fate, Assimilation, Singularity. b. Pluralism:- Belief in Multiple, Polytheism, Triads (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva)(God, son, HS), Relativism, Democracy, Inter-connectedness and Inter-Relationships. 3. Nastika: Pagans, Atheists, non-believers, anti-thesis, Null-Hypothesis, Chaos, anti-Christs.

1.According to Advaita Vedanta (non-dualism), Ātman(pure self) is identical with Brahman and there is no difference. 2.According to Dvaita (dualism), the Jīvātman is totally and always different from Brahman / Īśvara. 3.According to Viśiṣṭādvaita (qualified non-dualism), Jīvātman is different from Īśvara, though eternally connected with him.The oneness of the Supreme Reality is understood in the sense of an organic unity (vishistaikya). Brahman alone, as organically related to all Jīvātman and the material universe is the one Ultimate Reality.

From reviewing your list, it's the Maitrayaniya and Kaushitaki Upanishads that seem to be the two missing from my book of the Upanishads. I wonder why those two?
@user-tj6vp7if1r
@user-tj6vp7if1r 6 месяцев назад
Most people use Adi Shankaracharya's commentaries on 10 Upanishads (Mukhya Upanishads) which is why Maitrayaniya and Kaushitaki Upanishads are not taken. It is very hard to understand Upanishads without commentaries.

Upanishads contain the highest authority on which the various systems of philosophy in India rest. So Vedanta Philosophy is directly related to the Upanishads. The Upanishads, the Bhagavadgītā and the Brahma Sūtras are the foundational scriptures in Vedanta. All schools of Vedanta propound their philosophy by interpreting these texts, collectively called the Prasthānatrayī.(Prasthānatrayī), refers to the three texts consists of: 1.The Upanishads known as Upadeśa Prasthāna, or the Śruti Prasthāna. 2.The Bhagavad Gita, known as Sādhana Prasthāna , or the Smṛti Prasthāna. 3.The Brahma Sutras - Sūtra Prasthāna or Nyāya Prasthāna or Yukti Prasthāna (logical text) The main schools of Vedanta are: 1.Bhedabheda or Dvaitadvaita (difference and non-difference) Nimbarkacharya's commentaries are the basis of this philosophy. 2.Advaita (non-dualism) Adi Shankaracharya's and Gauḍapādācārya's commentaries are the basis of this philosophy. 3.Vishishtadvaita (qualified non-dualism) Ramanujacharya's commentaries are the basis of this philosophy. 4.Tattvavada (Dvaita) (dualism) Madhvāchārya's commentaries are the basis of this philosophy. 5.Suddhadvaita (pure non-dualism) Vallabhācārya's commentaries are the basis of this philosophy. 6.Achintya-Bheda-Abheda (inconceivable difference and non-difference) Founded by chaitanya mahaprabhu. All prominent Vedantic āchāryas, including Shankaraāchārya, Bhaskarāchārya, Ramanujaāchārya, Madhvaāchārya, Nimbarkaāchārya, and Vallabhaāchārya wrote commentaries on these three sources (Prasthānatrayī) All Vedāntins/teachers agree that scriptures (śruti) is the only means of knowing (pramāṇa) regarding spiritual matters (which are beyond perception and inference).

Enjoyed the video. Learnt a few things. Find scriptures a bit daunting. Kudos to you for getting into them. I follow cocktail approach a bit of gyan marg (knowledge), bhakti marg(devotion), raj yoga (meditation) and karma yoga (service). Works better for slow learners like me 😅

I think all hindu has a temple room , room for god, (thakur-ghor), in our house, even the poorest has a significant amount of place for god in their home... I go to the temples very few times, although community temple in my community is few feets away from my home.. (I think it's the most common case for hindus)

13:55 : shravana, manana and nidhidhyas Shravana : to listen and understand and ask doubts Manana : to contemplate on whatever knowledge you comprehend through shravana.. Nidhidhyas : to aaply the knowledge in reality through practice 19:03 : why did he give an example of theatre cinema, is because, while watching a movie for 2 hours we forget the actual reality of movie, we cry, get feared, we laugh along with the characters and the situation in the movie but when we realize it is just a screen with some pictures getting formed that whatever is happening on screen is not real, it is just a illusion created on 2 dimensional screen.. In the light of the source coming from behind... That is realization
