Super bummed about the fate of this bike. The copper on black frame was such a sick combo. But glad you bought it back. Looking forward to see what you do with it. If nothing comes of it. At least it will go back to the community rather than rot away in someone’s yard.
That is sad. I eagerly followed the whole swamp bike series and to see this as its fate, it's just a shame. Clean, stock 2nd gen SVs, in my area anyway, are such a rarity.
Can A near total novice 40yo who HAS and EXERCISES SELF CONTROL handle an SV650 in your opinion???? Does the totaled designation make the bike uninsurable? I suspect the answer is "Varies By State" but I ask anyway?
Anyone can learn to ride and most people can learn on an sv (especially if bicycles, manual cars, etc.) Totaled means it has a certificate of salvage. To turn that into an r title would require fixing completely, and a pretty expensive advanced inspection. Then you have an r (reconstructed) title.
