On one of the ponds on Hampstead Heath this pair of swans built a nest in March 2016 . Over the next few weeks they laid their eggs, incubated them and by May they started to hatch. .
I love how the mom stayed even for the last egg to hatch, even after being so exhausted and tired, both physically and mentally...THAT IMMENSE LOVE...❤️ MADE ME REMEMBER MY MOM TOO❤️❤️❤️
While the female is on the nest with her eggs she does stay on the nest most of the time. This means she doesn’t eat unless she leaves the nest. So she must also be hungry as well as exhausted. ❤️❤️❤️
I love the way the father swan guards throughout and helps the family. Swan are rightly regarded as angels and divine. Sian thank you very much for this delight.
Thank you for lovely wildlife video. We Londoners love swans and others, duck, geese, etc. I often see the geese family crossing busy dual carriageway in the large pond by Homebase in Catford, South London. All cars stop for them every summer. They are safe and daddy goose is very strong. Especially swans are respected for their beauty and quiet nature. Signets riding on the parent back is so cute. I hope they come every year here.
Thank you for the patience to stay for all the filming. It was so well done. I kept on counting like the early educator I was. The music good and voices of the people keeping watch also. It is Easter today. Thank you for all your comments, people.
Jeez, so many keyboard critics! I don't think she was asking for feedback on her music choice. Don't want to listen? Turn the volumne down! Instead of being so critical, just appreciate that someone took the time and work involved in getting this up. I would never have the opportunity to see this, and it was amazing, so thank you!
Mother swan has to flipped n turned the eggs every now n then for the babies to have even heat energy surrounding them to ensure every egg has equal warm to speed up hatching. Mother swan has to pulled out some of her furs to spread over the eggs. I can imagine how uncomfortable the mother is, having to keep changing positions as she has to be careful not breaking the eggs n not stepping her babies when they’re hatched n have to lift up her wings to shelter her babies. It makes me cry looking at the responsibilities n love for her babies being a mother. I couldn’t imagine how humans can eat these animals. Thank you so much for sharing 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are right in what you are saying. Also during this time that the mother swan is sitting on her eggs and keeping them warm she rarely leaves the nest. This means she has very little food to eat during that time which lasts over a month.
This is so beautiful! This little family, all together peacefully swimming, makes me for awhile forget all the ugliness of the world. And swans mate for life. If I were a god, I would bless and protect them! As I am not, all can do is send a good thought, and hope it gets there.
Thank you, I am pleased you enjoyed seeing the swan family. Here in the UK swans are a protected species so in theory they do have some protection but they do need more.
Made me cry at the beauty of such amazing creatures. The ending was especially touching, the way the babies climbed onto the back of mom. Makes me happy to be a human on Earth able to witness this video. Thank you.
Огромное Вам Спасибо за этот жизненный клип изжизни этихпрекрасных птиц!!! Это просто Чудо сидя на диване увидеть таинство обитания ирождения чудесных лебёдушка! Спасибо!!!!
thank you so much for this ! I'm reading _The Trumpet of the Swan_ to my adopted foster son · so precious we watched this as I was reading about the cygnats hatching · the best was the cob chasing off the duck · the cob in the story is a very protective father ! I loved it ❣️ it's these little things that make such a huge impression on young minds ... priceless
What a lucky thing to happen. It's astounding these Swans tolerate humans around their nest. The ducks where I live would not have any of that ... they hide very well while sitting on their nest. If you're lucky you can hear the babies ... but you can't see them till mamma says so. Beautiful rare footage. Thank you for sharing.
the beauty of motherhood. the mama swan rips out her own feathers to put around the eggs to make the nest soft and warm, like a blanket. i didnt know they could move their eggs like that. and the dad swan chasing away the ducks lol. what great parents ❤
They watch their kids until everyone out of their eggs already. and I feel happy to see them swimming together. They are pretty family all of them daddy mommy and their chrildren.
One of the most beautiful movie I have seen, uplifting, fascinating and utterly relaxing! Loved it in its totality! What a privilege it must have been to share the most private drama of nature! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for your generous comment. It does feel a privilege to be able to get so close to nature and be witness to the hatching of the eggs and the relationship between the cygnets and the adult swans.
Such beautiful swans! Love their cute little babies - they are so sweet! Congratulations Mom & Dad - you have a beautiful family! Wonderful video! Thank you!
Now look at that beautiful flexible long neck , checking on the hatchlings and then, like Queen on her throne , assisted by her King , carefully taking under her wing the newly hatched little beauties Hope you became proud parents someday like yours
Beautiful to see the parents building the nest, tending the eggs, and then the sweet little baby swans swimming peacefully with their parents. Swans are very devoted and form lifelong bonds. You could follow this pair, year after year, going through this wonderful process. 💗
I have been following this pair of swans for a few years now. Also there was another pair in the same area but the male died last year which was very sad. So the female of the pair is now on her own. Hopefully she will find another mate
What a beautiful video Sian!! 👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you very much to show us that amazing and lovely world of wild nature! Please don't stop doing videos like that. Great job! God bless you 💖
These are absolutely adorable! I live in Arkansas and get the joy of seeing the Trumpeter Swan, but they only come here for 3 months in the winter. They have their little ones up North. But still so beautiful to see them after they come back home every year. Thank you for sharing this!
What is to absolutely caring and loving of swans is to wait till there is nothing left to wait for and then let the little ones cope with what they can and when they can't - take them on your back "pack". SO! Heart warming and I hope teaching all humans who see this to understand this swan's intensive care. WOW!
I think we humans have a lot to learn from swans and animals generally. Swans are said to represent love, beauty and loyalty, have good family values and make good parents.
Ma ma’s back is the safest and coziest place in water. The loving motherhood shown here is what we humans should learn when it comes to raising children. 🥰
These are very delicate animals try to stay away from their nest too much stress is bad for them I know they're beautiful to watch, just keep them safe
These swans are used to people crowding around their nest but I agree it is not right to impose on their right to privacy. They don’t show signs of stress as there is a fence preventing anyone from getting too close. My main priority is to keep them safe.
This pair have been together for years. They are excellent parents, very protective of their young. Each year they produce many cygnets. They will be together for life I am sure of that 🥰
Swans are too Beautiful, Docile and Graceful for this World! The music is kind of foreboding and making me think something bad is going to happen. I sure hope not.
After such an exhausting day, watching a beautiful swan family from hatchlings to swimming babies is so relaxing. Thank you for the time you spent filming this precious family and the hours it took to edit this work. Now my body can rest and sleep knowing nature will always take care if each other. I wish people were more like swan families.
@@Sian.l.whitehead thank you Sian! I must have fallen fast asleep! I forgot to subscribe. Well I just took care of that little order of business. I think my favorite thing to watch the swan mothers do is to let their tiny tired babies hitch a free ride on mom's back. They look so cute. Now, I'm rolling over to go back to sleep. I know just what to watch before slumber now. Thank you again, fellow swan lover.

When I lived next to Indiana, I frequenly had gone to watch the white swans in Indiana's lakes. It was such a wonderful and peaceful past. The very sad part of my memory was that I'd lost my dear young son who'd shared that that wonderful memory with me long time ago, but he and everything remain fresh in my memory.
So sorry that you lost your young son, that must have been heart-breaking for you. Hopefully when you watch the swans you will be reminded of him and imagine a part of him is still with you x
They are building houses and taking care of their children ... They are hardworking and love each other ... A natural life and in them is very beautiful and lovely in the concert ... My heart is very big, I want to hug them to my heart and want to make them have a full and safer life. Moreover they are very beautiful ... They are the stars of the dance on the lake .....
I love to see so many languages in the comments. Just goes to prove how people are all the same, and appreciate the beauty of nature. Too bad we can't always bond, and remember that we are all the same no matter what race , nationality or religion we are!
Yes I love that too. I think it is amazing that people from other continents and countries are watching my humble video about a mute swan family. The beauty of the swans and the miracle of life has no cultural bounds
After the cygnets hatch it is actually a worrying time as in the first week it is usual that they don’t all survive. This year three cygnets died after being taken by a pike in the following days after hatch. I accept that I could have used music that is more uplifting but although it is lovely to see them emerging into existence Following that it is a tense time. To some extent the music does reflect how I feel when watching the scene, I am worried that they could be taken by a predator as can happen.
Beautiful video...We have 26 Trumpeter Swans and a few hundred Canadian Geese that spend the Summer in the river behind our house...Our Gander "George" Loves watching them from our dock...Videos of them on our channel...
