Was there for the 2011 “Swanage Festival” Summer Saturday Steam Gala with my wife. Ex-LNER N2 plus ex-LNER A4 4492 “Dominion of New Zealand” (aka 4464 “Bittern”) headlining. Was an absolutely amazing day with good weather throughout. The seven-loco lash-up Finale in the gloaming was a sight to behold. Debbie still talks about it to this day 😀. Despite now being a PLM, only manage down every few years or so, as live 600+ miles away in Kinross-shire, Scotland 🏴. Been even longer this time due to COVID-19 ☹️.
Excellent! I really like your clear, no nonsense style. The camera is solid on a tripod, and with just a bit of simple pan and zoom, you let the trains do the moving. Really good. I think Harman's Cross really does give a sense of what the S&D might have been like. I spent a summer afternoon there a couple of years ago, and especially between trains, it's possible to suspend disbelief for a while. This is a magnificent railway.
