I'm late to the party re: Swans. Can't believe I never knew about this band until recently. I like the weirdness of their music. They seem to be exploring what can be done strictly outside of conventional pop structure. There's something almost shamanic about their lengthy, rhythmically driven jams. They're obviously not interested in selling 3 minute pop tunes with catchy choruses, not that there's any harm in those. Good on Swans for following their own musical instincts.
