Most days the young swans gather together, line up, and fly a couple of hundred yards and touch down again. They seem to be rehearsing for their departure. They have never flown high in the sky nor have they ever flown away from this park lake.
The parent swan sometimes chases after his juveniles to make them fly. They seem reluctant to fly far, only go sufficient distance to keep out of their parent's reach.
