Several modifications are required to make a Chevy LS engine fit an older car. This video shows what I had to do to fit one into my 1966 Corvette RestoMod project. I also show the installation of a 4l60E transmission and the custom mount needed for it.

What year 4l60e trans did you use and how did you get it to bolt up to the corvette LS1? I'm in the middle of figuring this out now and getting a trans for my 01 Corvette LS1 going into my 89 Camaro.

The 4l60e is an early 2000's model but I don't know the exact year. I bought it from Cyclone Transmission online. It is similar to what would be used in a Camaro with an LS1.

Would like to see how you tap the heater hose outlets. They were press fit. Any special treatment for leaks. And were do you source your parts?

Hello, thanks for watching. It was pretty straight forward. I just used a 3/8 NPT and a 1/2 NPT pipe tape for the two holes. The holes were slightly over size, but they threaded just fine, and I went a little deeper to compensate for it. The fittings are from Performance Stainless and the 1/2" one was a two piece fitting which allowed me to get them both installed in the tight quarters.

@@DickShaw I was pondering that and it made me wonder if somebody made "BANJO" type fittings in 3/8" NPT and 1/2"NPT for use there? It crossed my mind because I used 6L80E Banjo Fittings for the tranny cooler lines in my tight tranny tunnel. Just curious if banjo fittings would give more room ....

Yes, it is a little bulky but some of the alternatives are really expensive.
