In this video we talk about the difference between your bee colony swarming and absconding. What causes them and when do they happen? Also, did your hive really abscond or are just trying to save face and not admit your bees just died out over time??

Happened once to a hive. I think it was too hot for them. All the nest, honey and nectar were ok, a perfect bee hive, but bees went away, no dead ones, they desappeared. Now I try to protect them from the Summer heat here south Europe.

What would happen if you applied a hydrophobic scent based deterrent like cinnamon. Would that agitate the hive? The ants would vacate based on cinnamon.
